We checked in and spent at least an hour reading about the history. I was a big Doc Savage fan, and seeing part of the story of Lester Dent, who created the books under the pen name of Kenneth Robeson) on the site made it even more exciting for me.

Located just off Highway 63, this hotel is next to the Kirksville Country Club. It serves a continental breakfast every morning and features an on-site fitness center. Very nice hotel, completely new rooms, everything is clean and renovated. Good breakfast.

The rooms were super clean and big very comfy beds. I loves the dove shampoo and soaps in the bathroom. And in the evening after a swim we enjoyed the big lobby to spend time with family. This Central Brookfield motel is 2 hours’ drive east of Kansas City, Missouri and 10 miles from the Walt Disney Hometown Museum. It is renovated yet retains some vintage features. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and I felt safe. Had frig and microwave.
