After a long day of driving from Sur, I was greeted by a smiling Mr. Anu at the front entrance. The check-in process was super smooth and he mentioned that since this was my first time in Oman, he had upgraded my room. A little about Mr. Anu - He is one of the nicest and humblest people you will meet and he treats every guest with respect (he previously worked in some of the top hotels in India like the Oberoi and the Taj). As I was walking out, a small "hello" turned into a very pleasant 2-hour conversation about our lives, history, and Nizwa. Being that it was my first time, he gave me a list of places to check out and practically planned out my itinerary with the must-see items. Every morning before I'd leave, he'd wish me well on that day's journey as I enjoyed the complimentary coffee and dates. I mentioned that I loved dates, and he had his staff pack me a whole bag's worth. A little about the hotel - The two-bedroom suite was very spacious and spotless. Along with the rooms, came a kitchen fully equipped with cooking utensils, a stove and a fridge. I was lucky enough to get a room that gave me a view of the sunrise every morning. A very pleasant way to wake up! Just a heads up, the hotel is located ~15 minutes outside of the city center, but I personally preferred that so I could avoid the city traffic while going out on day trips. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets within a 10 minutes' drive as well so you can always stock up on supplies. Pro-tip: Book through their website for a better rate and a potential upgrade!
