This is by far the best accomodation we've been in the area. Resort style facilities without the high resort price tag or crowd. It's more expensive than a homestay but the price difference is definitely worth it if you want comfort or a beautiful accomodation. We stayed in the overwater villa and it was great, very clean, wifi, electricity, felt just like being in a 4 star hotel. Staff is very friendly, excursions great and they are very helpful with anything that you need. Reef is amazing (lots of fish, turtles, moray and occasional black tips and white tips), overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

We all sat together every night and talked about our days, our dives, and future plans. I made lifelong friendships. The dive center is everything I wanted, small groups, lots of dive sites.

I went diving for three days on the Pulau Gam and snorkeled daily on Friwen. They are about a 10 mins boat ride. The Homestay is rustic. There are two beds covered with mosquito net. They are totally fine but somehow one would get in every night. It’s an island at the equator, there are mosquitoes. Also geckos! That’s part of the adventure. The room has an interior slide lock and there’s a clipping lock with a key for locking when you’re away. Honestly I never locked my place. The island seems very safe. Kids playing, most of the folks on the island are involved in tourism, though they don’t speak much English. It wasn’t an issue. I traveled solo and spent most afternoons in the hammock, reading, writing or napping. The food was amazing, delicious, the cook is very sweet and calls you to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fresh fish is caught daily. Vegetables and rice, very delicious and all included. Large quantities. Box lunches are available if you are diving all day. Bananas are snacks. Unlimited instant coffee, tea, hot water. The island is stunning. Sunsets amazing. The reef has more life to see while snorkeling than most places (Europe, Caribbean, US, Latin America) have to see while scuba diving! I saw turtles, squid, dolphins playing, reef sharks and millions of coral. A not about cash and other fees: you will need ~140,000 to take a ferry from Sorong to Waisai. Then you’ll need 600,000 to ride each way from Waisai to Friwen (this can be divided with others, provided there are other riders.). On Waisai, you’ll have to buy a Marine Park pass and an entry pass, in total 1,000,000. So you’ll need around 2,250,000 in cash (be prepared bc the pass can be purchased online, or card but sometimes their system is down and you have to pay cash). In Sorong airport there are four ATMs, most of them don’t work well. There are ATMs on Waisai but you have to ride a motorcycle to them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The owners were extremely helpful with organizing trips, answering questions, giving advice on places to stay. The breakfasts were always delicious and varied. They were very knowledgable about the region and were well connected. They arrainged a good scooter at a fair price. A great first landing spot off of the ferry from Sorong. I have already booked my second stay when back from the outer islands to prepare for the return ferry trip. International travelers will be happy here.

Offering a terrace and a private beach area, Alter Native Stay is situated in Tapokreng. Free private parking is available on site. Some rooms include a seating area where you can relax. Everything was so lovely. The family that runs this place is so welcoming and warm. They assist you with everything you need, the food is excellent and the place is magical

Location was amazing, the awesome doggies, the puppy so cute.. the outdoor shower is also great and even have free soap and shampoo 👌👌 food is decent portion and served in a timely manner.. they even sang at night on the sunset deck

The island is beautiful and peaceful.Now it is low seson, but it was really good for us!The heart of the place is Ramdhan, nice,kinde,takes care of everything! He made us several activities and fantastic picnic on the beach what we never forget! Thanks to all the staff for their kidness and the delicious food,it was amasing! We felt at home:)

The facilities here were great for raja ampat whilst still feeling authentic! Having your own bathroom with shower, a raised bed, sunbed platform, WiFi and electricity from 5pm - 8am! The dive centre part is also great with us doing our first ever discover scuba and they were so patient and safe! The reef here is truly amazing, with an amazing selection of fish, star fish and reef sharks!

The house reef is very beautiful with many fish and corals in excellent condition. All the staff was very nice. I especially want to thank all the staff for the attention received since I had a health problem and they were concerned about my health at all times.

So amazing here, we were watching little sharks and beautiful fish right under our hut, the staff were so kind and lovely, the children were great, they were catching fish along our walkway, they always said hello, gave us high-fives and fist bumps , I got given a nautilus shell by the family, so good here
