JamboHouse Lamu is set in Lamu, 300 metres from Gallery Baraka, 500 metres from Lamu Museum, and 500 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. It was a great trip to Lamu. The hotel owner will give you a map with detailed information about Lamu and will also tell you the transportation price in advance for reference. The view from the rooftop tower is great, you can watch the sunrise, the breakfast is delicious, the room is very comfortable, and I had many great conversations with the owner in the evening. I hope the business will continue to improve.

Jua House is a beautiful B&B, the traditional and modern mix decor is awesome and the rooms are very comfy. The breakfast is incredible - Jua House has its own bakery, and the staff are the greatest stars of the show.

Featuring a swimming pool and tropical gardens, Kijani Hotel is situated on the coast of Lamu Island, along the Indian Ocean. The décor comes with natural handmade furniture, lanterns and ornaments. Beautiful location in Shela village, stunning gardens around the hotel and a short walk to Shela Beach which goes on forever. The restaurant at Kijani is amazing, better than Peponi! Definitely have the Kijani Crab Curry!

Located 500 metres from Shela Beach and 200 metres from Mnarani House, Shiban House features accommodation in Shela. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The staff at this place were phenomenal - very attentive and went out of their way to ensure you had a comfortable stay not only at the property but in Lamu in general. Shout out to Joseph who did a particularly amazing job!

Featuring a terrace with sea views, a private beach area and a garden, Mangrove House can be found in Lamu, close to Manda Beach and 600 metres from Mnarani House. Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!

Situated just 10 metres from the Lamu beachfront, Shella white house features a restaurant and a rooftop veranda with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Everything about being in Shella countless times, is my peace. Ambience, Ben was available to assist with anything needed, good hospitality. And not to mention how accessible it was, you will find everything you need within that space from shops to hotels , beach view and sunrise.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. Great location for exploring Lamu. The views from the balcony are stunning.

Umma House has a terrace and is situated in Lamu, within just 400 metres of Lamu Museum and 500 metres of Lamu Fort. Guests staying at this villa have access to a balcony. Wow. Couldn't believe my eyes when I walked in. Umma house is a beautiful swahili-style home right in the center of Lamu old town. The architecture and interior design was just exquisite right down to the details. Justin, the house manager, is a star and made our stay very comfortable. I really recommend Umma house if you want to experience Lamu - skip Shela and head to the heart of the island - you won't regret it.
