The host was friendly and extremely helpful. It was a well restored Medieval manor house and my room was stunning. I was given the run of the place, including an impressive library. I was on a long distance walking trip: this stay was a real highlight. I got to meet the owner's Shetland pony, who thinks she's a dog Superb breakfast, too.

Our stay at the Quinta was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal! It is beautifully situated on the North bank of the Douro. We felt like house guests in a previous age, with the comforts of today. We stayed in a big bedroom, with a very comfortable king 4-poster bed. A very good breakfast was served outside, overlooking the river, with freshly squeezed orange juice - highly appreciated! It was very hot, when we stayed and we spent a lot of time in the lovely pool, overlooking the river beach. Thanks to Susanna, Celia, Sarah and the others that contributed to a memorable sray!
