We had planned to stay in Shkoder for 2 nights on our Albanian holiday. I booked Vila Sela as the reviews were fabulous. The views from the property are outstanding over Lake Shkoder. It wasn't until later that I realised we were not in Shkoder town, but a few km.out in Shiroke! I couldn't believe how lucky we were to end up here instead of the crazy busy congested town of Shkoder. Shiroke is like Lake Como without the price tag or hoards of tourists. Vila Sela is brand new and very modern and spotlessly clean. They have included everything in the hotel style room. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Every room has an amazing view over the lake and Albanian Alps. Highly recommend staying in Shiroke instead of Shkoder which is a short drive away.

Very cosy accomodation, beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Sweet and incredibly helpful staff that made us feel so special during our stay. The breakfast is delicious and the restaurant has many great dishes. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back!

Such a nice hidden place. Very sympathetic owner. Everything was great. We liked the breakfast also very much! The village at the lake has a special local atmosphere. Magnificient sun downs. Great swimming experience. Small boats. Nature is nearly untouched there.

My room and en-suite were super clean, as well as the rest of the hostel. It was super close to the bus stop and downtown, maybe 5 minutes walk. The volunteers were incredibly welcoming, showed me around the city to the best markets and restaurants (shoutout Anti, Tom, Summer, Ross), and the manager was always doing something to make sure the hostel ran smoothly. Highly recommend a stay here!

The staff was really nice and helpful. Safe parking, garage available in the hotel, the town is really nice, the only not so good thing in the town are many stray dogs.

The property had everything we needed for comfortable stay. Very authentic and charming location. The host is exemplary - always ready to help, fluent in English. Be mindful that part of the road is under construction but still the location is nice and close to Shkodra city.
