The warmth and attention to detail from the staff is among the best I’ve ever experienced—genuine, personal, and truly caring. Special mention to Mr. Jorge, whose first-class service and warm presence made us feel incredibly welcome. He is, without a doubt, one of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered at any hotel in the world. And the food? Outstanding. Every dish is full of flavor and heart, far surpassing the local restaurants in town. The menu is focused and perfectly executed, with ingredients that shine. You can taste the passion in every bite. If you’re looking to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature and comfort, this is the place. Plus, it’s just a short drive down to the beach at Dominical. I can’t recommend it enough.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Something deeper in the jungle yet close to Uvita and the coast. Just the peace and quiet and closeness to Nature I needed. And the cabin has no glass windows, just screens, so you can hear the music of the jungle very clearly. Nights were spectacular. I loved falling asleep to the symphony of the the surrounding wilderness and waking up to the sounds of roosters and howler monkeys (: The property has access to a river and mini waterfall which was very tranquil and serene. The drive to the cabin was a fun little adventure in itself and 4x4 is recommended. The hill that leads down to the cabin is ultra steep but you have the option to park atop the hill and walk down which is a short jaunt. The host, Wouter, was amazingly attentive, personable, and chill. He would always respond to my questions/ messages quickly. You could not ask for a better host. I can recommend Loft del Rio with total confidence and rate it a perfect 10. If you are looking to experience an immersive jungle experience that is also close to the coast, this is it.

A good location for a relaxing getaway in Matapalo, Dreamy Contentment is a bed and breakfast surrounded by views of the mountain.

This bamboo treehouse is the absolute perfect stay in Costa Rica and I would plan to stay at least 4 nights here. The accommodation is very cute, clean and the host Josue is super kind and helps you with everything. The area is lovely and not very touristy but very well reachable by car. It’s directly located on the beach that belongs to Marino Ballena Nationalpark and is one of the prettiest beaches we’ve seen. We also booked a tour to Corcovado Nationalpark with the help of Josue and it was an amazing experience. The Nauyaka Waterfall is a 30 min drive and to Manuel Antonio Nationalpark it’s an hour drive. Such a good location if you plan on doing these trips or just like relaxing at a beautiful beach. Can highly recommend staying here it was perfect!

We extended our stay we loved it so much! Our hosts were fabulous! We were seeking walkable, hike-able things to do and places to go! They had great recommendations for all! We would not have had such a great experience in Uvita if not for them. All was clean, well equipped and well maintained. The beach was close, and the pool was so lovely and refreshing at the end of our day! Recommend 100%!
