A wonderfully calm hotel. Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful room facing the ocean. The slightly old fashioned style of the hotel was pleasant and being on the seafront was amazing. The staff are pleasant and layed back, no problem to leave our car in their carpark on the departure day.

Boasting mountain views, apartamento gran Vía features accommodation with a bar and a patio, around 500 metres from Playa de la Atalaya. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony.

I enjoyed so much talking with the host, an older woman who has been a host for years and now shares the role with her son, etc. I speak English and she speaks Spanish, but we were able to communicate and actually had fun doing so, due to her enthusiasm and effort! She's one of the sweetest hosts ever. This place is truly gorgeous--historic and well-maintained. We stayed in the little apartment with views, including a large balcony, that faced the water. Dreamy! Even if you don't stay in that apartment, there is a shared living room with balcony space too. The son of the host (also a host) gave wonderful recommendations for a scenic drive up a mountain on the way to the national park (Picos de Europa). While we wanted to get to the park, we didn't have time, but this gorgeous little mountain drive was the next best thing! Ask about this. I also recommend the following for either a solo or romantic journey: *Walking Playa de La Griega beach for a picnic *Dining at El Meson del Pescados (spendy, but an amazing food experience)! We were here in November, and it was an ideal time--temps in the 60s (F) during the day and very few tourists. The only downside of that timing is a lot of places close. We were so grateful to stay at this beautiful hotel. Don't forget to have breakfast there too. It's amazing! :)

Very well organized, clean, and comfortable.. well located right on the esplanade.. I had arrived during the Iberian blackout, having been on the Camino all day and unaware of the situation.. the staff was super helpful in getting me situated despite the technical issues and also advising where I could find a restaurant still serving despite no luz.. my room was a budget room, so it was small with no view, so I can’t comment on those aspects, but everything was ok for me.. would recommend

Casa El Pico is a very comfortable and spacious first floor apartment in an attractive two-story traditional building (the ground floor was not in use) . It has enclosed balconies on two sides, providing excellent views of the the little harbour and the main part of Ribadesella across the bridge. The kitchen is well equipped and perfectly adequate for self-catering. We were particularly grateful for a welcome basket of fruit, in addition to some essentials like bread, milk, butter and jam for our first morning at the property (there is a good supermarket just a short distance down the road). The location could not have been better, as the property was situated mid-way between the main town and the beach (which is very large and very beautiful). As we travelled to and from Ribadesella by train, a good thing about Casa El Pico for us was that is within walking distance of the train station (a fairly steep route, but perfectly possible to traverse with wheelie luggage).
