CanadaWow. We were blown away by our stay at Otaru Geihinkan. This charming guesthouse is located literally steps from the ocean. Not only could we open our balcony door directly to the sound and view of the ocean waves, this room was the largest we’ve stayed at in Japan, equipped with the newest appliances and a full kitchen. It was perfectly clean and very modern. The heated floors next to the bed were a pleasant surprise in winter, and the loft was also a cute feature. I’d imagine the tatami beds in the loft would be a hit with kids- we actually wanted to use them ourselves, but forgot to tell the manager when we arrived late so they weren’t set up and we didn’t know if we could use them. They also have a restaurant on the first floor where each table has an ocean view. If we ever get the chance, we would come back in a heartbeat! I’ve never stayed at a more uniquely beautiful airbnb, and for such a reasonable price!

The staff was SO friendly and accomodating. Helped us bring our luggagd and show us our room. The room is also very clean considering how this is in a somewhat remote area. The seaside view was so peaceful. We wish we had more time to stay longer here.

My friend and I booked a room each for 4 nights at this establishment.
We had no real expectations, we just knew it was on the beach North of Oturo Hokkaido 45 minutes from Sapporo.
The staff were incredibly accommodating, the rooms were immaculate and well appointed.
We ate breakfast, had an Hokkaido barbecue, and a Michelin standard dinner.
I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
Extremely good value for the level of service and cuisine, absolutely fabulous!

Very modern for Japan and lots of space. Incredible view over the bay and area to sit out. Rare in Japan. Nice little beach. Restaurant first class and worthy of a Michelin star in my opinion. Excellent service and staff who Spk a bit of English and try their hardest to help in any way. If you are going to Hokideo this is a fabulous base. Ps you need a car though ! I never leave reviews but this place is special. 12 out of 10 👌👍

This hotel was unique. It was a good experience to stay in a love hotel as first time visitors to Japan. The room service and breakfast were really good. The staff were kind and patient with us. The bed was very comfy. We had the room with a sauna and it was a great way to relax! The view from the window was beautiful. An ocean out one window and the mountains out the other. The location was good if you're looking for a quiet area to stay. I'm sure in the summer this hotel is lovely, especially being on the beach.
