The accommodation blends into the beautiful natural jungle and beach landscape and feels perfect for the setting. Be advised that it is a bit rustic but there's a shower and a flushing toilet and our bed was really comfortable. There are no plug points in the room but you can charge your devices in the dining area. A mosquito net is provided which was great as it meant we could leave the windows open for a cooling sea breeze at night. We were a stone's throw from the water but also surrounded by trees, it was magical. The staff were helpful and friendly but unobtrusive. The food is traditional Khmer cuisine and everything we had was delicious and made with a lot of care. There are also a few other resorts in the bay that serve different food styles. Sunset Beach is more remote than some of the other bays on the island and does not have a ferry port or really much other boat traffic making it perfect for swimming, paddling and snorkeling. This does mean that you have to hike in to the accommodation but it's completely manageable, just be sure to pack in a backpack rather than a suitcase or kit bag. All the pertinent information and directions are sent out in an email as soon as you book. This stands out as one of our best beach holidays, highly recommended.

We have been to many countries but this was our best accommodation in Asia. The location of the hotel is absolutely unique, in a quiet part of the bay. There is a forest right in front of the hotel and there are no other tourists. There is complete peace here. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a beautiful beach near the hotel, in our opinion the best in the bay. We went through it all and it was nowhere prettier. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The food was very tasty and well priced. There are cheaper and more expensive restaurants on the island, here was a good in the midle and very tasty. It's not worth running around looking for other food. If ever in Cambodia, we will definitely stay here again.

Booked this hotel for my sister and her partner and they loved it! It’s a brand new hotel, right on the Main Street of M’Pai Bay. Super modern and well equipped, they said they had everything in they needed in the room (air-con, nice hot shower, kettle, comfortable bed,…). Staff are super lovely too 🥰

This was the most amazing place I’ve been to on my travels so far. Koalama felt like home, the place really has a personality and is not just an average hostel. The atmosphere is so nice, with the music changing every day and catching exactly the vibe of the guests. This resort was a slice of paradise. The pool, location, clean cozy rooms, great food and amazing staff. I had left something behind and the staff found it and were able to send it to me on the other island which was really appreciated. We only wish we had stayed longer.
