I would like to thank our host Franzi, Kiki and the rest of the team for treating us with the upmost respect and kindness. The wonderful staff was very attentive and made everyone feel at home at all times. Everything has been taken care of from the day we arrived to when we left. Breakfast was fantastic with a lot of varieties. Everything was freshly made with passion and love. Franzi would occasionally give us a ride with the tuktuk when going out, or in need of a quick transport. Her driving skills are simply unmatched and deserves mentioning. The days felt nice and long as the property offers a safe space to retreat from the busy, chaotic roads further south, making you enjoy every second at the property more. Stunning views from all corners into the vast ocean with unforgettable sunsets leave you speechless. Our trip through SriLanka was rapidly transformed from an adventurous busy holiday to a perfect relaxing safe space with direct access to the beach. Leaving this place makes me extremely sad but I am hoping to return soon again to spend some more quality time with the wonderful people I’ve met here, and can call friends. Incredible views (cannot be understated), superb staff - desk/rooms/beach, spacious apartment - upgraded to presidential; if you can stay in that room it’s worth every penny, relatively private beach with proximity to tourist areas. Slept REALLY well. Breakfast was good.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Our room was perfect -- clean, comfortable, and with a beautiful view of the ocean from the patio. One of the best breakfasts we had on our trip.

It’s the second time we came to the Riff and we are again very happy that we chose this beautiful hotel. From management to staff you’ll find kind and helpful people that make this stay even more beautiful. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, the service is great. We enjoyed the food from breakfast to dinner and really appreciate the options of traditional and authentic Sri Lankan dishes on the menu.

The room is very spacious with a huge bathroom and the hotel is located right at the beach! Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed is very comfortable. But the best aspect of this accomodation is the owner and the hosting team who truly went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Every single employee was always extremely friendly and considerate, they truly left a mark on us for their hospitality. We took a surfing class which was super fun and the restaurant next to the hotel serves the best coconut roti in the world.

Villa Saffron is a peaceful oasis in the midst of a bustling beach town. The accommodations were beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and provided concierge service 24/7. The food was exquisite!! We were sad we had to leave and will definitely return for another visit.

A very nice hotel. Good size, clean and tidy room with good air conditioning and fan. Great location right on a lovely deserted beach. The staff are efficient and friendly.
