The experience staying at an overwater bungalow was amazing, wasn't expecting too see such a variety of fish and even rays while snorkeling around the bungalows. Beach water color at its best. Beautiful hotel and nice energy staff!

Beautiful resort! Lovely pool area with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. There are also a few chairs and umbrellas along beach for more quiet relaxing. Excellent snorkeling in shallow water right from beach. Kayaks and paddleboards available free of charge. Wonderful breakfast buffet. We stayed in an overwater bungalow - very good size room with comfortable bed. To save money on meals, visit the food truck next to the resort entrance and the restaurant across the street. Also, stock up on drinks and snacks at grocery store that is less than 10 mins walk (turn right upon leaving resort).

This is such a wonderful property- the years of care and personal time invested by the owner and staff are evident in every turn. Location is so convenient, but when there you feel separated from the daily life of the island enterprises. It’s a little slice of heaven on Moorea. The grounds of the hotel itself are fascinating and overflowing with tropical trees and flowers and statuary. The cats are so friendly and make it feel like home (but we love animals). The entire staff want nothing more than for you to relax and enjoy and will go out of their way to assist you with anything they can. They were all so nice and helpful and pleasant. We ordered breakfast each night and it was delivered promptly the next morning and was delicious every day. We were out exploring or doing activities most days so weren’t there much during the daytime. We had a couple nice dinners out and had delivery from Holy Moly Steakhouse one night when we wanted to stay in. So several choices for dining options in your suite or nearby depending on your schedule and preferences. We had a rental car from Avis that we picked up at the ferry port in Moorea and dropped off at the airport in Moorea which I would recommend to make it easier to get around. It was very easy to navigate around the island. But several of the restaurants and activity coordinators will gladly pick you up and drop you off at the hotel if you don’t want a car. It was a very safe location and we had a mixed crowd of guests during our stay. Solo female travelers, couples with very small children, mixed generational families (grandparents, parents, older children, etc), and some couples either honeymooning or vacationing. It was a nice mix and everyone just kind of did their own thing. It never felt crowded or too full. It was perfect.

This bungalow is very small but had everything we needed. We became more and more enamored with spending time there over our two-day stay. The outdoor space - beyond the double-wide opening sliding glass doors, as shown in Frederique's cover photo, is very inviting. It faces nearly due north, so it had decent shade all day, making it very usable. The constant sound of the ocean's waves was very soothing. Also, the breeze was strong most all day, which keeps the mosquitoes away. Outdoors on the deck is really the bungalow's only place to eat, but why would you want to be indoors when this is an option? The ocean view is lovely. The outdoor shower was a really nice and unique feature. Frederique was readily available via the booking.com messaging and in person when she was at home. She made sure we had everything we needed and got us a couple of extra towels to take to the beach. We enjoyed the Motu Grill next door - nice staff, great food (although mosquitoes were biting and we had to go back to the bungalow for our Off spray). At the bungalow, though, we never used any spray or the mosquito net over the bed. As long as the doors were open while there was wind blowing, we think the mosquitoes were kept at bay. We would love to return to Ocean Side and will recommend it to others. Photos: 1) cute, harmless geckos find their ways into homes on Mo'orea. 2 & 3) beach at the bungalow is very wc nic but not a swimming beach, although you could wade out a bit. We saw interesting long slender fish there. The beach all along there up to the public beach, about a mile to the right from the bungalow, is mostly coral pieces. Walkable with shoes but not an easy walk.

I had such a wonderful stay in Moorea! The bungalow was cozy, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing getaway. Having a quiet private beach just steps away was a dream. Vaea, the host, is truly amazing - she made me feel right at home and even helped me rent a car on my first day, which made exploring the island so much easier. Thanks to her kindness and attention, my stay was even more special. I absolutely fell in love with Moorea and can’t wait to come back!

Get the beach bungalows, immediate access to the beach and ocean. The overwater bungalows aren't thst special. - welcome is OK: drinks, a flower and a small tour - cozy rooms, even if small - drinkable tap water - occasional shows in the evening - a steakhouse just across the road if you're not satisfied with the hotel restaurant

I’ve stayed in otw and beach bungalows in various top ranked resorts and Manava Beach Resort & Spa Mo’orea ranks in the highest levels. The location is beautiful, the staff are white glove, super kind, courteous and lovely. Attention is paid to every detail and desire. I had my own beach access from my villa. I am definitely going back to MBR&S.
