We really loved staying here! First time I was there was with my family and this time I came with my boyfriend and it was just fantastic. Amazing quiet beach with hammocks and swings (no beach boys), delicious food (try the king prawns) and the girls at the spa gave us such an amazing couple massage! Our highlights were the safari that the front desk manager arranged for us and the dance shows that were part of the evening entertainment. Such a beautiful place, we will come back asap!!

The food was amazing and plentiful. Huge choice for breakfast. Fresh juice. Dinner options with cold beer. Rooms, pool and property clean. The beach was stunning, with amazing sunrises. Staff ensured we had a relaxing stay, including Edina the Customer Relationship Manager, Edwin the Manager, Dora, cleaning staff and Lucy the great chef. They organise excursions and massages. Highly recommended if you want a more intimate great value holiday.

This was an amazing surprise! Location, staff, food… the food at the PoaPoa restaurant, OMG! Soooo delicious! I had book a bigger hotel to stay in Kiwengwa but at the end we changed for a smaller and cozy place. Why? It’s prefect to rest peacefully and enjoy the beach.

this is by far the best place Ive stayed- not just in zanzibar but everywhere!! the staffs were extremely kind from the moment I came. when I entered the room, I could not believe my eyes!!! just like in the movies when you step out of the balcony and you see the beautiful waters. truly wild experience. the next day, when I wanted to do a quick breakfast before checking out 15 minutes later, they told me “pole pole” and I have never ever ever gotten such treatment before. I know pole pole has been a characteristic ingrained within tanzanians but for a resort business, it was still crazy amazing that i was told to take my time. i am truly touched by their kindness. dont think twice. come here!!!! ill be back for real

Really enjoyed my stay at Zanzibar Lodge! The place is very nice, with big, comfortable rooms. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I loved having the animals around. The location is great too, just a short walk to the beach and main road. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend for anyone visiting the area

As a guest at Shirley's we loved the great service and cleanliness of the rooms. The best thing is the close access to the beach and it's facilities. As a couple we share a birthday and we chose to celebrate it in zanzibar at Shirley's Residence. Shirley's made us a romantic set up by the beach and the chef prepared a delicious 4 course meal. The best part was the birthday cake which was enough to share with other guests...it was the best celebration ever. They really made us part of their family. We will forever be grateful. The management continues to work with us regarding everything we need from them, and in Zanzibar even when back home.
