Being above the sea in this stunning tree-house-like bungalow is fantastic! The view on the rocks, the sea, the changing tide is fascinating. There are monkeys sitting on the roof and the wind blows fresh air into the bedroom with seaview. Behind the bungalow there is a direct staircase to the beach where you can swim if the tide is high. The restaurant serves good food and staff is very helpful and welcoming. An amazing place to stay, discover nature and feel adventurous!

Location incredible. Unlike rest of zanzibar there is very very little trash and plastic floating around on the beach, and the water is clear. There is beach and nature as long as the eye can see and very little people. Owner is excellent and staff is very very nice - consider tipping them when you leave if you pay your whole bill upon checkout. At least if you usually tip meals etc. Room and privacy nice, private sunbeds outside room. No AC as one should expect from an eco-lodge, but a fan that works well. Room is good, Seaview and spacious. Big restroom. Relatively large village within walking distance. It is very interesting to walk through. There is a large large baobab tree with a staircase that leads up into the tree. This is nice, and cost 1 usd i think. Also you can buy cold soda and crisps etc in many of the local kiosks. Came here for Christmas, and I had maybe the best Christmas dinner I've ever had. Special Christmas eve package of 4 courses including lobster, and coffee and a cocktail for under 30 usd. Also great paella with lobster, calamari, octopus and tuna for 30k tsh the next day, also amazing. Very nice vibe and clientele was very nice and polite. Staff great!! They are lovely and I wish I could have gotten to know them by staying longer - maybe another time.

The hotel was clean, inviting and on an absolutely stunning location on the beach. The facilities were always immaculately kept and we felt able to truly relax while here. The staff really made our experience and all were friendly and willing to work hard to make our stay as relaxing and stress free as possible. Special shout out to David, Mary and Zoe in the bar and restaurant who were fantastic! We had some issues with the air conditioning unit in our room and the management were quick to give us a solution which meant we could continue to enjoy our stay. The food in the restaurant was very tasty, and we thought reasonably priced considering the slightly remote location of the hotel. Because of this we enjoyed eating in the hotel most of the time. The drinks fridge was well stocked however the drinks could sometimes have been a little colder. In terms of activities this hotel makes a great base from which to explore the island, and the hotel was able to book reliable and safe travel around the island. We went snorkelling, swimming with dolphins, BBQ on a sand bank. Overall we really loved the location, the hotel was very clean and the staff really made our stay! A beautiful holiday and we are already looking forward to returning to Zanzibar and this hotel!

beautiful place with a homely atmosphere, run by a great multicultural family with good taste and respect :)..kind of at the end of the world :) but it was exactly what we needed at the end of our trip. If we ever have a chance to get in Kizimkazi again, this place will definitely be our choice! Thank you guys! Dzieki za vszystko!!:)

What makes Palmera so special is its inspiring mission. The hotel and restaurant operate as a hospitality school for local young women, and the exceptional service they provide is a direct reflection of their training. From their warm smiles to their impeccable attention to detail, you can feel the genuine pride they take in their work. The hotel's setting is pure paradise. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise sea is mesmerizing, and the lush, immaculately kept gardens create a perfect oasis for relaxation. It was wonderful to be able to walk barefoot through the fine sand and simply enjoy the tranquility. For anyone, but especially for vegans, the restaurant is a must-visit. The creative and delicious vegan dishes, all beautifully prepared and presented by the talented students, were a true highlight. It's a testament to the high-quality training they are receiving. The breakfast, in particular, was the best I had during my three-week stay in Tanzania, the homemade warm bread and homemade chocolate spread were unforgettable. For lunch and dinner, with main courses priced between $11 and $13, it offers exceptional value. This 15-room hotel is a quiet retreat. I stayed when it was almost empty and had no issues with noise, but even when full, the large garden and pool area should provide plenty of space for guests. The price range for double rooms in the 2025 high season was 70-100 USD. All rooms face the sea, though the view can be a bit limited from some of the downstairs rooms. While the large windows are beautiful, the curtains don’t fully cover them, which could be a privacy concern for some. I prefer a firm mattress, and the bed was perfect for me, but it might be a bit too hard for others. The solar-powered hot water worked flawlessly. The road to the hotel is a little bumpy on the last kilometer, but there are plans to improve it. In the bathrooms, I would have appreciated a bit more space to dry towels, or a drying rack on the terrace.

This place is one of the best accommodation I have had and even it is better than the photos in booking.com. It’s a real paradise very clean very well decorated very calm and peaceful just in front of the beach and you can see sunrise from your bed. On top of everything is the staff, they are super nice, kind and smiley that makes you feel very comfortable. The breakfast is amazing and varied, they have best banana pancakes the only thing can be better than is the coffee. The restaurant has a good chef and they can prepare you the food as you want even if it is not in the menu. There are also other restaurants and hotels around for food in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this place you will enjoy your time there.

We stayed 2 nights at Promised Land: it was the most magical moment of our stay in Zanzibar. The hotel is magnificent, with sublime views, secluded and quiet. The room is very nice, with a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. The restaurant is very good, and the staff extremely friendly. In addition to the swimming pool, the hotel has several spots to chill out in front of the ocean. The excursions on offer are very affordable and well organized. Special mention for the adorable dogs that roam the hotel. We recommend this hotel 100%!

10/10 — Unforgettable stay! While booking, I was simply looking for a reasonably priced beachfront hotel, but Mandarin Resort exceeded all my expectations. White sand, a crystal-clear turquoise ocean right at your doorstep, and a breathtaking view — it truly felt like paradise. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Every request was met with a prompt and polite “Of course, as you wish,” which made me feel genuinely cared for. Although the hotel offers an all-inclusive option, I preferred ordering à la carte — every dish was fresh and absolutely delicious. The rooms were spacious and spotless, the beds comfortable enough, and the pool impeccably clean. Everything contributed to a relaxing and memorable holiday. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for high-quality, heartfelt hospitality.
