Offering an outdoor swimming pool and à la carte restaurant and a garden, Tiki Hut Hostel is located just a few steps from Palomino Beach right between Palomino and San Salvador rivers. Absolutely my favorite. The food was delicious too (the included breakfast was ok). I would stay there again.

Reception was extremely attentive and answered every question we had in a timely and professional manner. People sometimes forget that the front desk isn’t their personal concierge, yet the staff still went above and beyond for us. Their patience and responsiveness made a huge difference in the quality of our stay. The restaurant exceeded our expectations — the food was truly top-notch. Fresh, flavorful, and easily some of the best meals we had during our time in Colombia. We also loved the presence of the rescued pups roaming the property. They added a warm, authentic charm to the environment and made the place feel even more welcoming.

I especially appreciated the peaceful ambiance and the touches that reflected the local Wayuu heritage. The neighborhood was a true highlight—quiet yet close to everything. Just a short walk from the malecón, I could enjoy sunsets over the sea, delicious street food, and vibrant local markets. It felt authentic, welcoming, and safe, with friendly locals and a laid-back vibe that made me want to stay longer. This was the ideal base for exploring La Guajira—from Cabo de la Vela to the salt flats of Manaure. Whether you're here to relax or to adventure, this spot is a perfect launchpad. I’ll definitely be back!
