One would think the area would be noisy or bustling but the hotel was quiet and extremely welcoming! The women staff are exceptional!!! They helped with taxis, food recommendations, tours and locations. Breakfast was delicious and healthy! Our suite had a kitchen so that was such an added bonus! We felt like it was home and would definitely stay there again!

Hotel Boutique Maree has an outdoor swimming pool, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Santa Marta. Boasting a concierge service, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Great central location, rooftop pool was great! I also left an item behind and was able to get it back when I returned to Santa Marta a few days later, appreciated their help in storing for me.

Ecolodge Playa Brava Teyumakke offers accommodation in Santa Marta. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. You can play table tennis at this hostel. The way to the hotel is easy of you take motorcycle - the you just go down. On the way back it can be a bit challenging though. Hotel is really nice and chill, not many people so you can really enjoy and relax. They give sunbeds and hammocks, swimming pool is pretty big. Food is good but if you eat a lot you may ask for double portion as they are little small. Prices are not so bad if you consider the place and how difficult is to get there. In the morning we saw monkeys!

Offering an outdoor swimming pool, rooftop tubs and a spa, Hotel Boutique Casa Carolina is located next to San Francisco Monastery in Santa Marta's historic center, and 200 metres from Santa Marta... Rooftop pool - we stayed in the apartment on the top floor (it was only $10 or so more dollars than a standard room and we were there for only one night) - it felt like the pool was our own. We used it upon arrival which was wonderful as we arrived to the high humidity from Bogota, as well as later at night before bed. The apartment was very spacious for the two of us and again, it felt like the entire terrace level was our own. With a simple/tasty breakfast and great staff, this was well worth the price we paid! Though we were only there for one night, it was probably our favorite of the 4 accommodations we stayed in Colombia (minus the location - not a huge fan of Santa Marta). We left the next day for the Lost City trek (intense but also so worth it!)

The nights are super fun full with entertainment and the days are full with activities for everyone.

I like Colombian food but after months of traveling in SA I was very grateful for delicious granolas with yoghurt - interior of the hostel was clean, nice, spacious and I feel like home
