It looks like a village (hence the Village name😁). So even the resort had more than 85% ocupation rate it felt like was all just for us !. Many of the pools are heated so kids had a great time. Pools are scattered all over the place so you can take your choice of location, pool bar and tourists arround to acompany you. Aqua Park was a must so we spent some time there as well. The beach has an entrance to the sea with sand and it is very good for kids. No waves, low depth and very safe. We been mostly to El Khan restaurant as we like local food wherever we travel. I must say all management here is FULLY COMMITED to food security, cleaness and quality of all they serve as food, drinks and so forth. Also the a la carte restaurant ShellFish highly recomended.

Also to Abd El Rahim, who looked after our room daily! Your attention to detail, your kindness...thank you.

Located along its own private beach, Gemma Resort offers views over the Red Sea. It features indoor and outdoor pools, and wellness centre. Several restaurants and bars are also available. The resort offers free WiFi in the lobby. We are group that was travelling around in Europe before reaching Egypt and Marsa Alam was our first destination in Egypt. Gemma resort set the bar high to our expectations for the rest of the trip and an extraordinary example for Egyptian hospitality. Everything in the hotel was perfect. The rooms spacious and cleans, pools clean and in different locations and beaches were amazing with great snorkeling spots. I can not speak enough about the food, no moment in the day where food is not served and in different cuisines with amazing quality. The most interesting part to me thing is that everyone is assuring you are having good time in your stay and I literally mean EVERYONE. Whether it is Mr Mahmoud, Hazem and Mohamed on the front desk or Atef and Abdo on the pool and the beach or Chef Mohamed Salah in the kitchen, every single one of these gentlemen made sure that our stay was comfortable and did not hesitate to provide the required assistance.

Expérience en famille – Test d’hôtel Our arrival at the hotel immediately set the tone: a quick, professional check-in with a warm welcome. A small but much-appreciated gesture: a welcome drink served with a delicate macaron that delighted the whole family. The staff kindly invited us to enjoy breakfast while our rooms were being prepared — a smooth early check-in that allowed us to start our stay on the right foot. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. The selection isn’t enormous, but it’s intentional: every product is fresh, high-quality, well presented, and frequently replenished. At a time when people value quality over quantity, this was exactly what we were looking for. Then, a wonderful surprise: we were upgraded to a swim-up room. Sheer joy on little Henri’s face (and on ours too, to be honest!). The room lived up to the great first impression: spotless, well laid-out, clean, and welcoming. Another lovely detail: the gentleman in charge of housekeeping personally introduced himself and assured us we could reach out to him for anything we needed. That kind of personal touch really makes a difference. Of course, we couldn’t resist a dip in the private pool. Henri jumped right in, and that first moment together in the water was simply perfect. Later on, we walked down a few steps to discover a peaceful little bar beside the adults-only pool — a quiet haven to relax for a while. There, Khalid prepared delicious cocktails (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). He even made a special effort for Henri, which truly touched us. Thank you, Khalid! For lunch, we headed to the à la carte Basilico restaurant. The beginning felt a bit off: the ambiance was cooler than the rest of the hotel, and the order taking was a bit confused (dishes before drinks?). We briefly wondered if staff roles were properly coordinated. But quickly, the service picked up pace and warmth. The team stepped in with more flow and friendliness.

With a garden, the 5-star resort has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. There is free private parking and the property offers free airport shuttle service. The accommodation was truly stunning. We got upgraded to a premium room and the room was huge and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was a large TV and great WiFi. (The TV didn’t connect to the internet properly for apps but we just watched the channels). The shower was a huge rain shower. There was a terrace which had lovely views of the sunrise. The food selection in the restaurants was amazing. The drinks and the cocktails were also great. There were 10 or so pools which were all great. The beach was also lovely and there was an area for snorkelling. The hotel is not quite finished so not everything was open yet, but what’s open already was more than fine. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. When we arrived it was just before the end of lunchtime, and they took us straight to one of the restaurants on a golf cart so that we could eat before we got to our room. We got food poisoning shortly after arriving here (not sure from where) but the staff arranged free transfer to the next resort over where we went to the doctor and the driver waited for us for almost two hours when we were receiving care. (I think there will be a clinic on site but this hadn’t opened yet)

Comfort, size and location from room Service and attention from everyone within the resort Variety of food options in the mainly restaurant Comfort on the beach and in the pools Care and attention to detail at check in and check out
The property is very well maintained. Lots of green and flowers in the middle of the desert. Beach is beautiful and the sea great for snorkeling and Kitesurf. Many excursions are offered. Spa has great prices and offers. Pools are clean. The bazar offers a great choice for some local shopping.
Nice quiet gardens with small pools for each building and a big pool with music and activities on the other side of the road. 3 min walk to a beach with nice beds and parasols. Lunch and drinks available on the beach as well. Staff is extremely helpfull and everything is clean and well taken care of. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Great location, it’s the opposite of a resort. Quiet, secluded, near the beach with a great dive shop and house reef to snorkel. Easy access to Marsa Alam by taxi. Fady and all his team were lovely. They really go out of their way to help you. Food for dinner and breakfast was great. Met lots of nice people over the shared dinners and by diving together. Clear starry nights and nice sunsets over the desert/mountains in distance too. Facilities are basic but good value - would recommend staying here if you like the above!
The location was great with not too many tourists. The beach was clean and it was great to have the sun chairs available for free and the bar on the beach was really nice. The food was good, liked the grilled food they offered some evenings. The staff was friendly and helpful.

La Casa has all the amenities that you would care about like aircon, clean spacious rooms, plus a rooftop lounge where you can have breakfast or a sunset tea with an ocean view, but what really makes the difference is the staff and the owner Mesho. While I was there a power cut affected 400km of the Egyptian coast including Marsa Alam. Mesho came from Cairo and went way beyond what was needed to ensure this would affect us the least. In the end it is really the helpfluness and friendlyness of the people that make us want to come back.
