At the suggestion of Correos, we started our Bilbao segment of the Camino del Norte at the Guggenheim Museum and followed the path along the Nervion River the entire distance to Gexto. Gexto Rooms was chosen primarily due to its proximity to the Vizcaya Bridge (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), but was much more! This small hotel seems to be newly renovated with great attention to detail and hospitality. Bathroom was modern and clean and roomy. Bed was very comfortable and linens were of nice quality. Our hosts were gracious, accommodating, and interested in providing a fine stay, which it was! Note for pilgrims: Though not the "official" Way, this alternate route made for an easy warm-up day to begin our hike to Santander. Civil improvements being made to the pedestrian walkway have softened this largely industrial zone and a Lidl supermarket, located about 5 miles in, carried any beverages or snacks you might wish to stock up on. Arriving in Las Arenas early in the afternoon allowed for a relaxed start to our week and time to enjoy the town's beach promenade and sample plenty of pinchos! The following morning, we crossed over to Portugalete via the gondola— an experience that we would've otherwise missed! The Camino's yellow arrow was easy to find on the other side.

The apartment features family rooms. I must say, in my experience with around ten Airbnb stays, Nagore and her husband are by far the most exceptional hosts I’ve ever encountered. Their kindness, attentiveness, and willingness to help are truly unparalleled. When I faced an issue with being double-charged at a restaurant, Nagore went above and beyond to assist me until the matter was resolved and I received my refund.

This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Outdoor seating allows guests to enjoy the fresh air. Very stylish and clean. It was made all in good quality and you feel very comfortable from the first moment. Staff was very friendly and helpful! There was also a bottle of water and facilities to make coffee on the room. What was great after a long hike. Very beautiful surrounding.

The hosts were very warm, charming people. They were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The rooms were immaculately clean. The closet and tables and bathroom shelves were uncluttered so you could comfortably settle in.

Hotel Embarcadero is set in a former Basque mansion in Las Arenas, in the heart of the coastal town of Getxo. There is easy transport to central Bilbao via Gobela and Areeta Metro Stations. The room had the best see view I could imagine for this trip. The room was very spacious and very well designed. Everything was very clean and staff was very friendly with a lot of can do attitude

Had everything we needed including some basic requirements for cooking such as oil, salt and pepper, etc. Very clean and comfortable. Very close to the beach, train station and bars/cafes.

The property features city and quiet street views, and is 10 km from Bilbao Exhibition Centre. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. It’s a very well thought through apartment. We loved all the details put by the host. We stayed for five days and had enough coffee and dishwashing detergent, etc. All is modern and very clean. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Easy self check-in and check-out.

The property was extremely clean , and we had everything you would need inside A home ftom home .. a lovely large terrace was an added bonus and in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood . It was a short walk to metro and in the other direction to a lovely square with a pub restaurants and shops . The person who we dealt with Maitena was very helpful and gave us information on the area and also, let us check in to the apartment earlier, which was great for us as we arrived early in the morning . Would definitely recommend this property
