The hosts were very easy and pleasant to communicate with, and provided a great personal touch to the place. The place was very cozy, and had all the amenities someone could ever need. The bed was very comfortable, and the place was tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with silverware, cookware, kitchen appliances, and basic pantry items. Towels and linen, as well as toiletries are all provided. The sauna also works perfectly, and had a convenient access to the patio for a cool down in the snow. Finally, the location was unbeatable as it was only a couple of minutes from the Olavinlinna castle, the city center, and walking trails on the islands.

We stayed in several places around southern Finland, and this was the best. The location by the lake is stunning. We ate dinner at a lakeside restaurant a few miles away, run by a friend of our host. Savonlinna is a short drive away, as is the world's largest wooden church. Great base for exploring Finnish nature. Amazing breakfast, including local specialities, freshly made bread, and cooked eggs and sausages. Given that we were the only people staying that night (summer season had not started yet), this was exceptional service. The breakfast room in the farmhouse was very pretty.

This property is on a family farm, 12 km outside Savonlinna and 10 minutes’ walk from Lake Pellosjärvi. It offers a private beach, a lakeside sauna and a summer restaurant. Breakfast was homemade from local ingredients - lot of baked products both sweet and savoury to meet many tastes. The farmhouse houses many different types of accommodation: one can choose from a hotel room standard to a more rural sleeping space to a summer cottage feel by the lake. Sauna is available at a reasonable fee at the lake site or at the farm house area. Row boats and a beach are also by the lake side. If one desires a dinner, that can be reserved a day in advance. For those wishing to take a trip to the past, the small museum next to the main building provides for that. Very functional, close to the Savonlinna centre and the opera festival and other lake side attractions, the owners are very helpful in finding your way around and assisting in getting taxi to town. Plenty of parking space, too.
