From the moment we were picked up at the airport to the moment we left, the staff made us feel very welcome and did everything they could to make sure we had an amazing stay. They organized tours for us and the restaurant chefs even made sure there were special vegetarian meals available for us each day (in addition to the regular menu!). The bures are very comfortable and you are very close to the beach. Nice snorkelling if you go far enough - and you can even spot reef sharks at sunset if you’re lucky!

Home cooked meals, freshly picked fruit, telling stories, the feeling of being home - these are things that can't be found at luxury resorts. During our stay, my partner and I did not have to worry about transportation, or going hungry; everything we needed was there. Sam would drive us around Taveuni, teaching us about Fijian culture, showing us different parts of the island, and showing off his witty sense of humor. Sarah made sure all of our needs were taken care of, offering us delicious food, teaching us things like how to pick fruit, and showing us how to cook authentic Fijian meals. Together, they work harmoniously to really make Aeroview what it is - a well-run, welcoming home. Sam, Sarah, and their family, showed us true Fijian hospitality, and created one of my favorite travel experiences.

Coconut Grove Beachfront Resort offers beachfront accommodation in Matei on Taveuni Island. Each cottage has a private sun terrace and the resort offers massages in a private beach bure. What can I say, heaven on Taveuni. The sweetest, most wonderful staff anywhere. The view, wow. The comfortable bure. The beach. You don’t need to even consider someplace else. There are only three bures. Count yourself fortunate if you get to stay here.

The luxurious Taveuni Island Resort & Spa is set on 10 acres of tropical gardens, a 2-minute drive from Matei Airport on Taveuni Island. Stayed at four different resorts across Fiji as part of our honeymoon and this was probably our favourite. Small enough to really care, it's a beautiful, private resort with very friendly, approachable staff embedded in the local community. There's loads to do, decent food (catering fairly well for vegetarians), and all for a reasonable price.

Spend your days surfing, diving, snorkelling or simply relaxing in a hammock on the beach at this solar-powered eco resort. It features an on-site restaurant and traditional bungalow accommodation. What did I like? Where do I start? I liked...no, I loved every minute of my stay at Maqai. It is as close to paradise as I'll allow my pragmatic mind to entertain. From the relative remoteness to the natural beauty, the super-relaxed atmosphere to the genuine warmth of the staff, this is a very special place. More of a traveller vibe than that of the well-worn tourist path of the islands closer to Nadi. Slightly rustic? Sure, but only in the best possible way. Cathy (manager) ran as tight a ship as possible on a tropical island in the Pacific. She was welcoming and prompt with her email replies to my questions regarding all the various water sports and cultural experiences on the island. In no particular order, the following staff members quickly began to feel like old friends...Navo, Etta, Sala, Emosi, Soni, Tui, Junior, Jale, Johnny, Mama's Soke & Luce, Netta and Suki (four legged and furry). They all exude such an authentically friendly yet service oriented approach to their individual roles. I can't speak highly enough of how they looked after me. It is up to you how much or how little activity you schedule into your day on Qamea. Highlights included surf trips to the outer reefs, snorkelling and lunch on the Island Tour, the Sunday morning village visits and church service, and the food. Crikey, the food. I had to ask for slightly less portions by dinner time, or I would have no room left for evening kava with the locals! If you're reading this review and considering/comparing it with other options in Fiji, fair enough, but I honestly feel it is a rare and rich experience worth every cent and the added travel time to get there. Paradise Taveuni is located on the island of Taveuni. Please book domestic flights to the island through www.fijiairways.com. Take a taxi from the Taveuni airport to the Resort (approx 60 mins). The snorkelling out the back of the hotel was lovely. There was a large staff to customer ratio which meant there was always someone to help you. Lots of lovely plants at the hotel and the rooms were nice. Free water refills is always appreciated.

Situated a short walk from Taveuni Beach, Maravu Taveuni Lodge offers accommodation with access to the beach and a colorful and vibrant reef. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. This is THE place to stay at if you go to Taveuni. It's really well located, close to dive centers / rainbow reef and it's easy to take the bus to go to Bouma to do the Lavena and Tavoro waterfall hikes. The rooms are surrounded by beautiful nature, the pool is great and the food very tasty. If you're traveling solo, you might meet other like minded people as it's the only place with a dorm. The best thing about the lodge is the staff, who will make you feel welcomed and looked after during your whole stay and who will share more about their culture if you take the time to chat to them. Be sure to try kava and listen to the beautiful music Kali plays every evening. Also they run a morning boat ride to try and see dolphins (couldn't see them when I went but you get to snorkel too) . Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Taveuni Dive Resort is located near Soqulu, 9km from Waiyevo. Free WiFi Access in public areas is available in this resort. The staff was outstanding. The restaurant always changed the menu and everything has been really good and tasty. The villa and the garden were very well maintained. The boat personnel has been very friendly, very safe, and very skilled.
