Shanti is a little haven of perfect tranquility and only a few meters from the beach. Our room was spacious, clean with thoughtful decor and accessories including some interesting books. I loved the individual paintings both inside and out. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. We arrived extremely early without warning and were offered breakfast immediately which was above and beyond but extremely thoughtful and much appreciated. They had our room ready for us within a few minutes so that we could enjoy our day around the pool. Mr Luis welcome was terrific and it was lovely to meet Manni the owner and share some of his abounding energy. We would highly recommend staying at Shanti and will certainly rebook next time we are back in El Paredon.

Angél the owner / host is an absolute legend, he went well over our expectations to make our stay at the hostel (and Guatamala!) a great one. Angél spoke great English and also helped us practice our Spanish. Bikes included, kayaks included, breakfast included, comfortable bed, nice long pool, some weights / yoga mats provided, free drinking water, fresh bath towels swapped mid stay.

Unless you’re really into surfing I’d recommend coming down for a weekend (2 nights). The temperature is something else... This pool saved our lives as the sea isn’t great for swimming. Facilities are great, rooms spacious and beautiful. Tip the local staff as they do an excellent job on cleaning!

The staff welcomed us with such warmth and kindness. The room was spacious and luxurious, the outdoor shower was refreshing and fun, and the food at the restaurant was excellent. It was also really nice that guests are trusted to take drinks freely and just write it down. I highly, highly recommend it. In addition, during our stay there was a power outage in the town. The staff were very accommodating and agreed to cancel the extra night we had booked (even though it wasn’t their fault at all) and helped us arrange a taxi to our next destination. We truly hope we’ll be able to return again in the future!

We had a spacious room and a beautiful bathroom, which was open and gave a really tropical experience. There was a shared kitchen outside that you can use if you’re staying in Manglare, also a possibility to put your food/drinks in the fridge. The location is very calm and like a 5 min walk to the beach. El paredon is quite busy and there are some parties, but in Manglare it’s very calm. We liked it. Extra thing is that it is close to the mangroves, where you can rent some kayaks for example. At the end of our stay, we forgot some stuff that was still drying outside. We took contact with Manglare and they immediately were very helpful: they searched for a way to sent us our belongings by express delivery to our next hotel in Flores. Thanks for this service. Highly recommend it!

The grounds were so pretty. We loved the pool area. The rooms were beautiful, we loved the sink and shower. The worry dolls left for us were a super cute addition. The food in the restaurant was SO good. We had dinner, drinks and breakfast. The bartender/server we had at dinner was so friendly and helpful. The bartender/server at breakfast brought us coffee right as the opened without us even asking. The chef came out and talked to us as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better staff experience.
