The room is large and super clean. The staff are awesome, friendly and always attentive. The hotel arranged everything for us, pickup and transport and tours with guide. The hotel arranged everything had a very chill vibe with great views and lots of areas to relax and enjoy a quiet moment. The food was thoughtfully made and when we were going on tours, they packed very nice sandwiches for us.

Loved this place, the bungalow/hut was spacious, comfortable, super clean, being in the jungle was amazing listening to all the animals at night, the staff are so friendly and helpful and provide you with free water. Highly recommend.

I loved everything about this place and wished I would have stayed for weeks! The room was big, clean, comfortable with an amazing view on the lake, especially at sunset and sunrise, when you can see a lot of birds (among which green parakeets, red-lored parrots, etc.). There were mosquito nets, but I didn’t see a single mosquito throughout my 3-night stay. The AC was quiet and worked perfectly, and the room had great Wi-Fi I used for a work video call. The room comes with a balcony, where you can find a table, chairs and hammock. There is also a kitchen you can use in common spaces. Umberto is an amazing host! He is very kind and helped me throughout my stay, even offering to lend me money when I had trouble withdrawing from the ATM, which I really appreciated in this stressful situation. He arranged my tours to Yaxha and Tikal, and the hotel’s location is very convenient, right where shuttle and colectivos stop and just in front of El Remate’s only ATM. It is a 5 min walk from the laundry shop, and within a 5 min walk from many great cafes and restaurants (Cahui, La Puerto, Casa de Don David, Doña Mari, etc.). I hesitated between staying in El Remate or Flores, but now that I have been to both, I am happy that I got to experience a quieter side of Lake Petén, with better sunset views and amazing restaurants, closer to Tikal and Yaxha archaeological sites. Highly recommended!

Zapote Tree Inn is located less than 16 minutes from Flores' airport and 4 minutes away from Flores island by boat, located at a privileged point to appreciate sunsets and sunrises overlooking the... I had a dorm all by myself with an ensuite bathroom. Staff was helpful. Easy to relax, with a plunge pool too. The restaurant was excellent and not expensive. Easy to take a cheap boat to Flores island.

This charming hotel is located in northern Guatemala’s Petén Jungle, on the shores of Lake Petén. It offers fantastic trips to the Mayan Ruins of the Tikal National Park. The location in a natural reserve with a private beach is exceptional. The facilities are very well kept and staff go above and beyond to make your stay in the hotel and experience in Peten a trip to remember. Kevin Guerra from the reception orgsnized fantastic tours for my family, the service providers were excellent.

We had two amazing stays at Ximel house! Hilda and Elvis are so helpful, kind, and accommodating. Hilda helped us do our laundry, stored our luggage during our 5 day trek, and even helped bring us to Flores on a 4:45 am early lancha. The area is lovely, calm, and a short boat ride from Flores. I cannot recommend this place enough!

The owner of the property is an amazing, kind and helpful guy. Anything I needed, he was always willing to help, hairdryer, boiling water, extra towels etc. He was always on time to pick us up by the boat and it was super easy to communicate with him during the way about pick up time.

Janet is the absolute best and she was so accommodating. you should give her a raise so she stays there. whatever your paying her isn't enough! the rest of the staff is also so kind and helpful.
