We loved our stay at Kuda Laut on Siladen Island. The location for snorkeling is top-notch, as you can swim right off of the beach into water with beautiful thriving coral gardens. We saw more species of coral and fish than we have anywhere else, as 97% of Bunaken Marine Park is underwater. The resort is into sustainability and gives you a free cup of coffee if you collect a bag of plastic. We enjoyed playing pool at the outdoor pool table, as well as long walks around the island. When it is low tide, one can walk all the way around the entire island. A short walk to a nearby pier provides you with a gorgeous sunset every evening. We would absolutely love to come back to Kuda Laut one day.

Offering an accommodation with a dive centre, Happy Gecko Dive Resort is located on Bunaken Island in North Sulawesi, just steps from the island’s world-famous beaches and diving sites. It features a private beach area and a restaurant. Willke and Jerry were the best hosts and run their family business with the utmost pride and attention to detail. The full board food was so good, made with love, and was fresh and the most tasty we have had in Suluwasei. A great romantic spot or family holiday. Accomodation was clean and comfortable with lovely views out over the lagoon. I completed my Advanced PADI dive cert here and the instructor was great fun and very reassuring. Largest turtles I’ve ever seen gliding around your and beautiful Eagle Rays. Much cheaper and easier to complete here than at home, with the coral reef on your doorstep. The location was pretty ideal as it’s out of the town centre but still very close, providing a quiet nights sleep and privacy. Nothing was an issue and they accommodated any requests including sourcing a specific beer from the mainland! We look forward to returning and wish them well in their business - highly recommended!

Providing snorkeling, fun diving and PADI diving courses, the resort also has private garden, sunchairs, direct access to the sea and the beach, stunning coral reef just in front, a sea view restaurant and a tour desk. Breakfast excellent- crepes, eggs, fruits, real fruit juice, cereal. Very large portions Location! House reef easily accessible just snorkel 50m infront at high tide & there’s a wall reef! I saw sea snakes, turtles, many fish Dive/ snorkeling trips - not a diver but new freediver, I felt very safe in the ocean, saw many many turtles, sharks, sea life. 12 euros for the trip if you bring you your own snorkel mask & fins, otherwise it’s possible to rent for extra. If you’re not a confident snorkeller be mindful that the guide goes with the divers so you will most likely need to stay near the boat. However high probability you’ll still see turtles & nice fish, corals etc. I had issues with my ears & needed to leave early & although I had already booked an extra night I was not charged which was very kind!! I’ll be back again for sure! Super comfortable, beautiful spot

Located within less than 1 km of Pangalisang Beach and a 14-minute walk of Manado Harbor, Three Ken Homestay & Cafe offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Manado. Set on the beachfront, this property features a bar. Mount Lokon is 27 km away and Christ Blessing is 8.6 km from the homestay. Three Ken was a really nice surprise. It is located at the prime location in Bunaken, first row. The two rooms are next to each other above the restaurant. The family is a super friendly, they get you everything organized. But the best is really the food, prepared by Mama Inge; really well cooked food with veggies, mostly fish - fresh tuna was the best - not this deep fried stuff… In the evenings the locals always played music, some tourists were joining - big fun! Full recommendation from our side (we stayed there 5 nights, extending our stay in Bunaken) had both rooms: one for my wife and me and one for our two kids.

The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and full-day security for guests. -all the staff was very friendly and I felt so welcome -the room is spacious and spotless clean -very comfortable bed -huge bathroom with a lot of towels, hair dryer and hot water -free water refill -very strong A/C -washing machine that you can use free of charge -the hotel is directly on the pier where the boat from rumah selam is which is very convenient if you are diving -they have 7 sockets in the room, in case you are a diver with a lot of things to charge

The accommodation was very comfortable, with great amenities and a great view of nature. Yuli and Mehdi are incredible hosts who make you feel right at home. I had some amazing dives, and the professional instructors made the experience even better. I also enjoyed making friends and having fun conversations with other guests at the bar. To top it off, the food at the restaurant was amazing. Both the local and international options were very delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Offering sea views, MAMALIS HOMESTAY is an accommodation set in Manado, 700 metres from Pangalisang Beach and 1.2 km from Liang Beach. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Two lovely adjacent bungalows in front of the beach in the village with a shared porch with a dining table and relax chairs. The host Mamalis made amazing varied food, some of the best we’ve had in Indonesia. Papa Sem has a boat for snorkeling and dolphin tours. The atmosphere is calm, close to the pier and two diving schools. Communication in English is done through Stefen, who runs a nearby homestay. He is very friendly, like Mamalis and Papasem, whom you can talk to in Indonesian and through translation apps.

Situated in Manado, just less than 1 km from Pangalisang Beach, Coco Divers & Homestay Bunaken features beachfront accommodation with a private beach area, a terrace and free WiFi. Staff on-site can arrange a shuttle service. The twin room is beachfront while the double room is streetside. I recommend beachfront, of course, it has a better view but also less noise from the roosters that are across the street. The double room has more indoor space, and big outdoor sofa bench, if that's what you need. It's right in the kampung village, so it's absolutely susceptible to more noise and activity; but it's also closer to the main pier and other restaurants. Lucky is a fantastic host, and the family puts a lot of care into the homestay. It's simple but very clean and cozy. There's many small thoughtful things about the place, it's an easy place to stay. The food is different every day, and it's easy to ask if you do/don't like something. Communication is very clear and prompt. The reef out front is a long swim before you see anything, but it's nearly the same with other places.
