The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

Even if we are not fluent in English, everyone was very kind and my husband who is not used to traveling abroad, enjoyed our stay. The butlers were always looking out for us and were quick to arrange various activities. The villa was beautiful and comfortable. It was a dreamy sight to see horses running around on the beach. Of course, we would like to visit often in the future.

They have a restaurant with drinks and a decent menu with some specials, which luckily for us was lobster when we arrived. Big, fat, fresh lobster. Staff is kind and the rooms are super comfortable and well designed.

Beautiful pool area overlooking the ocean, the staff were friendly and helpful. the food was nice for breakfast lunch and dinner. I will comeback again.

The accommodation features airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. What a gem in Sumba. A slice of paradise. All the staff were amazing and particularly Aloysius William who was painstakingly thorough in helping me navigate flights after the airport was shut due to volcanic ash. He kept me updated with news on flights which was so comforting. Dewi was also amazing but then all of the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool is a gem and the beach is pristine and perfect for early morning walk. I wil be back!

Facing the seafront, Oro Beach Houses is a bed and breakfast offering a 3-star accommodation in Weetebula. It features a private beach area, garden and private parking. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. The staff were wonderful and the place was really nice. For this price in Sumba, it’s hard to find anything better. There were a few more insects in the room compared to places like Bali, but it wasn’t a big issue thanks to the mosquito net, which was in perfect condition despite what some other reviews mentioned. We stayed in two different rooms and had no problems.

We found Three Queens exceptional for three reasons: First the location on the amazing and basically empty Rua Beach in beautiful Sumba. Second our hosts Lidya and Brad together with their three daughters and extended family pampered us throughout our stay with food and advice. Third, the four villas in traditional Sumba style are not only very beautiful, but also furbished and decorated with style and every detail is thought through.
