Lelewatu Resort Sumba features free WiFi and rooms with air conditioning in Watukarere. Very secluded and quiet. The private villa with pool was spectacular as were the ocean views. The food from the restaurant was properly prepared and good. Since it was low season, they were out of quite a few menu items.

A slice of paradise. All the staff were amazing and particularly Aloysius William who was painstakingly thorough in helping me navigate flights after the airport was shut due to volcanic ash. He kept me updated with news on flights which was so comforting. Dewi was also amazing but then all of the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool is a gem and the beach is pristine and perfect for early morning walk. I wil be back!

Enjoying beach front location and views of the sea, Padadita Beach Hotel offers accommodation in Waingapu. an excellent hotel, quiet and very comfortable. Beautiful infinity pool that you can do laps in if you want. The resto is very good with very pleasant staff who speak good English. I would definitely go back here. Free transport to the airport is a big bonus.

For this price in Sumba, it’s hard to find anything better. There were a few more insects in the room compared to places like Bali, but it wasn’t a big issue thanks to the mosquito net, which was in perfect condition despite what some other reviews mentioned. We stayed in two different rooms and had no problems.

We found Three Queens exceptional for three reasons: First the location on the amazing and basically empty Rua Beach in beautiful Sumba. Second our hosts Lidya and Brad together with their three daughters and extended family pampered us throughout our stay with food and advice. Third, the four villas in traditional Sumba style are not only very beautiful, but also furbished and decorated with style and every detail is thought through.
