The hosts are very warm and friendly, full of helpful tips about surroundings. We have been in Japan for 20 days, from Tokyo to Osaka and this place along with Shikoku has definitely been the highlight of the trip. Much needed escape from crowds and super charged civilization. If we ever come back to Japan, Sorayama guest house is the one place we are sure to visit again.

Friendly and knowledgeable, Shippoya's owner is able to speak English well, making it much easier for foreign guests to communicate, have interesting conversations, and learn about Japanese culture. Guests can use the washing machine for free, and there is an outdoor space to hang and dry clothes.
