He guided us the unique flavors of each type of food and the best way of eating with various sauces and condiments. He took the initiative to give us pamphlets about the sight-seeing spots nearby. We took his advice and did another hour of touring to learn more about Atami. It was a very hospitable and warming journey we had had with this hotel. Situated in Kumano, within 200 metres of Odomari Beach and 4.7 km of Ubuta Shrine, Oninosanpomichi features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. I'm not easily excited, but this is probably the first time I give a 10 out of 10 (and would give it 11 if I could). The staff is really exceptional (even for Japanese standards), very polite, very kind and very considerate. The building was built in the 70s (it's been a family business ever since) so it got the flair from that time (even the faucets on the washbasin in the bathroom seem to be from that era). Everything is well kept and working without problems. And of course verything is clean. It's located just next to the two tunnels leading towards the city, so it's conveniently accessed by car (be sure to slow down when exiting the tunnel or you'll miss it). By foot it's 20 minutes and only one of the tunnels can be used - I'd recommend a taxi. For foreigners: The staffs English is a bit limited, but it's sufficient for basic communication. If you want an authentic stay with the kind of atmosphere you might have seen in an older movie: This is your place to go.

It is situated 34 km from Shuzen-ji Temple and provides a shared kitchen. Hakone Shrine is 27 km from the guest house and Lake Ashi is 28 km away. Bed was amazing, rooms are large and it's very modern.

The property is non-smoking and is set 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The staff was really nice. We had a tour through the hotel (even the roof top). We were also offered to be driven to the beach by car.

Guests staying at this ryokan have access to a balcony. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. Really enjoyed staying at Ushiogumo: The facilities are brand-new and impeccable, amazing staff (!!), beautiful location that's close to scenic landscapes. The Kaiseki Ryori dinner was excellent, breakfast was great too! Each room has a private bath on the balcony. There's lots of amenities in the room. Plus, the hotel onsen is made available for private use from 6pm. It's a small property (I counted 7 rooms) and thus feels very cozy. The road in front of the hotel did not really bother us. The terrace windows are well-isolated to block out any noise and there's also the calming sound from the balcony onsen. Extra points for the super-friendly staff!!! ...who can also converse in English so it's no problem for foreign tourists.

Amazing facilities - there's Amazon prime to watch, nice futon beds, hot showers with a tub, and very big and spacious home. Location is amazing too. 5mins to the beach!!
