We have just had the most incredible three nights at Villa Thamburu. The villa is perfection, the beach is stunning, it is so relaxing and we were incredibly well looked after by the friendliest staff. The food was delicious and we enjoyed lots of cocktails too! My husband and I have been lucky enough to travel widely and this has to be one of the best places we have ever stayed. Thank you so much for making our short time in Sri Lanka so magical.

We stayed 4 night in this villa and our stay was more than fantastic!!! The host Shameera is such a great and wonderful guy. The villa is located in a very green garden with a lot of space around the building. You can sit on the veranda and look for hours only in the garden and you will see real nature with different flowers, trees, animals etc. It was so relaxing!! :-) The breakfast is served by the host every morning on the veranda outside and it contains day by day different local specialties with a wonderful taste. Also his hints, what to to in the surroundings and possible activities are great and useful. Thank you once again for hosting us in your small escape from normal life, Shameera. Really nice room located next to the beaches. Very good breakfast in quantity! And the staff are really nice and helpful. They took us for a boat trip to see the mangroves and to see what there is to see around. And show us the gems from Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

The property is beautiful,clean and extremely well maintained but the most exceptional feature of La Perla is its staff and owners and most especially Alexandra and Nelson. They are not only gracious and accommodating but Nelson is an incredible chef. The best food we have had in Sri Lanka . His tiger prawns are the best I have had anywhere in the world!

We were welcomed with popsicles when we arrived. Our room was massive, clean and had all the updated appliances. There was a private patio with a sun bed as well. The staff were incredible welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made the bed everyday, sometimes even twice a day, and they had all the mosquito repellents in the room and even replaced the mosquito lamps, incense and more (although we had no issues in the room probably because of that!). Breakfast selection was amazing and delicious. It was also really fun to watch the train go by in the morning during breakfast. Pool was clean and was really nice to dip in to escape the heat. Super convenient location, just walk across the railway tracks and you’re at the beach. There’s 24 hour security to open the gates for you no matter what time you come back. We started our trip here and it has been so hard to live up to those expectations. It is probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.
