We could go for hours talking about Beach Bungalow Yala and especially its people. babu, Roshan and the team are the best people we met in Srilanka and probably in the world. They are kind, generous, genuine, sweet, smiling all the time. The stay was unforgettable in everything, the place itself is heaven on earth, the food is wonderful, the beach, the dogs, the cats… and again what made everything special was the energy of the people. We will never forget them in our entire life and we are coming again to stay here and to visit them.

I did not stay here while in Kirinda due to limited space (the owner and I connected on Whatsapp and he helped in finding me another property nearby) but most of the people in my group did. I wanted to write a review based on my experience with the property and the communication with the host when they realized that they were double booked. We had dinner for 16 there and it was amazing. The Host family is great and the property is in an amazing location. My friends that stayed there loved it. It’s a little bit more expensive than some of the other options but from what I could see it’s worth it!

Overlooking the pristine southern coast of Sri Lanka, Shangri-La Hambantota is located along the ancient Spice Route in a city steeped in rich history. It has everything you want in a five star resort. Kids slide is fun for kids up til 8-10 years old. The beach is beautiful but even when we there in April the current was so strong that is was prohibited to go into the water. We had half board and the buffet in the evening was actually really really good. Lots of variety every day. We were there for 6 days. Often these all you can eat buffet is not that great even in a 5 star hotel, but this was really good. Staff was very friendly.

Here you will be met by Thaliph, who will give you a room, feed you breakfast and express his readiness to introduce you to the beauty of Sri Lanka. Imagine a beach with fine white sand. Closer to the ocean, the sand is already chocolate color. And not a single tourist around, no one will prevent you from enjoying the beauty of the ocean. Only you and the ocean, which will greet you with the sound of the surf and a light breeze. In this house, you will be surrounded by the most hospitable and friendly people. When we went to this guest house, we imagined a hotel, fuss, scurrying staff. But, after we checked in, we were left to our own devices. At the same time, everything we needed was given to us as soon as we reminded about ourselves. The breakfasts are excellent. Fish with rice or vegetables, shrimp or fruit on the ocean shore are simply delicious. You will always be given fresh tea, and those who wish will be offered a bottle of beer. By the way, when you go out onto the terrace in front of the house, you are already on the shore and the ocean greets you. We were met at the airport. Upon arrival, the rooms were already ready for occupancy. Everything was clean and tidy. And again, without unnecessary fuss. If you want, they will organize any trip for you along any route: beaches, national parks, Buddhist temples, all the sights of Sri Lanka.

The special touch given by him of curd and treacle was amazing service of this quality is very rare and should be appreciated

Excellent service, we booked online and due to illness of our baby we had to change the course of our travel, we cancelled last minute and the hotel management were kind enough to accept. The hotel looked nice and we were very excited to go there but couldn't due to reason me mentioned.
