Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is 44 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Hands down our favourite hotel of the trip. The villa is gorgeous, plenty of space for the 5 of us. The whoops of joy as our kids explored the place said it all! Private pool, incredible food, attentive staff, wildlife all around. On our first evening, the guides took us to the red sand beach, about a 20 minute walk away. Very beautiful. You walk past a lake with baby crocs, can spot iguanas and other wildlife. Magical. We booked a safari through the hotel, the jeep was comfortable, and very reasonably priced. They packed us a breakfast to take with. The service was outstanding. We didn't want to leave.

The hosts went out of their way to care for me, welcoming me with a fresh smoothie and continuing to shower me with fresh fruit and snacks during my stay. Delicious food clearly made with love. The accommodations are clean and comfortable- AC room with fan, en-suite bathroom, mini fridge, etc. the highlight of my stay however was definitely the exceptional service and treatment from the hosts. Highly recommend booking here for a homey stay a stone’s throw from the beautiful Tangalle beach!

Shine Wave Turtle Beach has a garden, a private beach area and a sun terrace with swimming pool and Full English/Irish breakfast in Tangalle. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 200 metres of Tangalle Beach. There is a restaurant serving American cuisine, and free private parking is available. Amazing staff, always ready to help, they have a solution for everything. My wife fell ill, and we stayed two extra nights and we received all the help we needed. Turtle watch is amazing and it is 100 meters away from the hotel.

In my opinion, this is the best place you can stay in Tangalle. It is located a little bit outside the center so calmer but still close enough so that within 5 minutes, you are in town if you wish to. Two of the most beautiful beaches of the area (Silent Beach and Goyambokka Beach) are within walking distance. The place itself is absolutely great. It's a beautiful house with the hosts living on ground floor and the rooms/apartments on 2nd and 3rd floor. They are very spacious and equipped with everything you need, both for a short vacation or for a longer term stay. The beds are comfortable and the mattresses have standard US/European length, so your feet won't stick out. The AC works properly and in addition there is a fan. The WiFi is perfectly stable and fast enough even for video calls. The bathroom is clean and designed in such a way so that you can take a shower without the entire floor being wet for hours. The host and his family are very friendly and welcoming. His English is very good which makes communication easy, and he replies very quickly. They offer food at their place and rent out scooters. Given the price all of this is offered to us as guests, this place definitely deserves a 10 star review. I have already recommended coming here to friends and am certain you will be happy staying here either.
