The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and was cleaned every day which helped deal with sand that gets everywhere and kept the bed and towels always refreshed. Breakfast was very good.

Situated in Huanchaco, Totora Surf Hostel is a recently renovated accommodation, 200 metres from Huancarute and 12 km from Chan Chan Huaca Esmeralda. The property has sea views and is 13 km from Trujillo National University and 13 km from Gran Chimú Coliseum. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. The owners, Diego and Laura were honestly so amazing. They went above and beyond. Everything was tailored towards surfing, which was awesome, such as having buckets for wetsuits, showers downstairs post-surfing, clothes racks, surf board rentals and lessons. Otherwise private rooms, spacious kitchen, super close to the beach, amazing vibes, etc. Diego is also a great surf teacher/coach. I have learned so much from him and the video analysis. I originally planned 3 night and ended up staying 2 weeks. Highly recommend this place - look no further.

It's the best spot for surfing and has super friendly family hippie vibes. Great spot to come to serf and chill and meet new great people. I stayed in total for almost 3 weeks and I wish to stay even longer. Thank you Dario and Gigi for this amazing time I could spend with you 🫶🏽
