In general, the room was clean and well appointed and the food served for breakfast or for room service was great, but what really stood out was how warm and genuinely helpful the staff at Funny Lion were. Ms Val knew all guests by their names and greeted everyone cheerfully every day. Mr Ralph and Ms Zel really went the extra mile when I got injured during one of the tours too. All the other staff have also been helpful and attentive. We really appreciate every bit of our stay here! Will definitely choose Funny Lion again if we come back :)

Since there's no internet access or reception at the hotel, it creates opportunities to bond with different people from all parts of the world and connect with them. You can also choose to read a book, swing in a hammock, swim right in front of your room or hang out in public areas. The village, the shipwreck and the small jungle walk on the other side of the island was also perfect for a short adventure. Our room was a small bungalow which we only entered to sleep. The food we had was amazing thanks to our amazing chef. In a nutshell, we had an amazing time there. Definitely suggest for the ones looking for an off grid experience full of nature, sea and good food.

Wi-Fi is excellent. Beds are comty. Stuff is so helpful. There're so many events happening in the hostel and the region. You can book tours directly at the hostel. Breakfast is good. People are outgoing and chill. There're so many stores, diners and everything is in walking distance. They have a cool bar downstairs which you can socialise and have great breakfast, lunch or dinner

The Funny Lion - Coron boasts of an outdoor swimming pool, an open air bath featuring natural views, and dining options on-site, this 4-star resort is 1.5 km from Mount Tapyas and 6.5 km from Kayangan... It’s a great concept hotel not so far from Coron port. Good interior of the rooms. All the details are well thought such as warm welcoming, swimming pool, roof top bar, good massages and tasty food for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Overall, amazing place! Highly recommend

We were first given a room above the reception that we found loud (the usual problem in the Philippines is poor front door sound insulation). Upon bringing that complaint to the staff, they went beyond our expectations to accommodate our needs. We were positively surprised and had such a great experience that we decided to extend our stay. We ordered breakfast once and it was brought to our room which was really nice. We loved the trip to Nacpan beach and enjoyed free sunbeds at their sister hotel. The hotel provides free shuttle to the city and to the airport.

Thank you to the team for making our 2 nights in El Nido absolutely perfect, we can’t wait to come back!
