The property was beautiful with extensive thought put behind everything including a wonderful welcome basket, bathrobes, fresh cut flowers upon arrival, separate beach towels, eggs/butter/milk already in the fridge, and a collection of wines to purchase if you run out and don't want to run to the store. Really, just book this place. We plan to come back soon and hopefully specifically to this place!

A recently renovated apartment, Casa da Avó - Vila do Porto offers accommodation in Vila do Porto. The property has quiet street views. Providing free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking apartment features a solarium. Fabulous home in a wonderful location, easy walking to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and excellent off street parking. Good cross flow ventilation to mitigate the warm humid weather in August. Good cooking facilities, including a charcoal BBQ on a large furnished terrace. Very comfortable bed and living room furniture. Greatly appreciated the washing machine, and outside clothes line. We were pleasantly surprised how spectacularly beautiful Santa Maria Island was, and how warm the water was for swimming.

We really enjoyed that the house was historic but also renovated, so you are getting both culture and comfort. It has more than you need, from the kitchen, to the bathrooms; and you are able to witness sunrises and moonrises right from your living room! Watching the stars at night was an unforgettable experience too. The management team is very kind and helpful; communication was really good throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again!

The holiday home also features free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Host was so kind and helpful. She filled the kitchen with food and wine. Even did laundry for us. I can't say enough positive about this stay. It was a highlight of our 3 week trip!!!
