If you just look for a tropical paradise, look no further. The property is right on the beach, and what beach it is! Totally clean, wide, sandy, with roaring waves that put you to sleep each night. At night, in winter months, five species of turtles come to lay eggs and I saw them each night. There is a river cutting the beach in two; and when you cross the river, the beach becomes just impeccable. Magical. You can even enter the river that runs to the sea and swim upstream. The vistas you get around you are simply breathtaking. I have never seen such beauty in my life and I have traveled quite a bit. The bungalows are simple, but clean and comfortable. The mosquito net worked very well, but there were very few mosquitoes anyway there. I took the Malarone daily, but people around me did not. I asked around the long time residents and no-one ever had malaria, while living on the island. I would not take them pils again. There is a shared toilet and shower there - both very clean and functional. The water in the shower is cold-lukewarm- but you will pray it were colder, since it is hot outside. The owner Tomás is truly very helpful. He speaks ONLY Spanish and Portuguese, but with the help of google translate we were able to communicate very well. He is very helpful and will do anything to accommodate your wishes and needs. He helped with the trip to Isla das Rolas (the Equator trip) as well as with the trek to the foot of Cao Grande. Oh, by the way, you can see Cao Grande from the alcove on the premises or from the point where the river runs to the sea. Also from the river itself. There is wifi at the reception and around, and this wifi is good, reliable and strong. The entire complex is totally eco, powered by solar energy only. Breakfast is included in the price, but dinner can be ordered with Tomás. It is usually fish or octopus and, together with the breakfast can become a bit repetitive so I advise you to bring some provisions with you.

Gente d’aqui has an incredible location right next to the beautiful shore, with amazing views. The owner was incredibly helpful and went extra mile to help us organise additional activities. It is possible to get a massage on the property, which with the skilled massager, views, and sounds of waves was probably the best massage I ever had. There is a local bar right around the corner where we had a funny night with some great memories. Praia sete ondas just couple of minutes away with car, and boca do inferno is just couple of walking minutes away. All in all, I definitely recommend Gente d’aqui and love to return one day.

Loved everything, spacious comfortable beautifully decorated room in an amazing setting with ocean view. Restaurant with great food and very kind smiling staff, loved our stay here!

The staff is great and food very delicious. The road to get there is a bit difficult but if you have a good car or an arranged transport, no problem. There is limited electricity and only cold water but that didn't bother us at all. The whole experience in this peaceful place was just perfect.

The breakfast is personalized instead of a buffet. I didn't even have to request it. Soon after I sat at a table I was served by an ample sort of food. Local fruits, ham, cheeze, and more. I tried several kinds of brewed tea. For those that love lemon, I suggest to try the Chalela tea :). The location is slightly away from the city center, about 5 minutes from car. This both gave me a calm area for sleep and relaxation, and made it quick to get there whenever I needed, which suited my needs perfectly.

Perfect location downtown in walking distance to supermarkets, café, restaurants, a car rental and tour agency. I was even able to check out very late at no cost as my flight had originally been delayed to nighttime.

Emoyeni Gardens provides beachfront accommodation in São Tomé. This property also boasts a restaurant and a year-round outdoor pool. All rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels.... Great location wonderful staff
