It’s so important to have proper communication when travelling and I had that with Arthur (the owner). He was quick to respond and there to help anyway he could. He was kind enough to talk about the area and take me on a tour, which I enjoyed immensely. The tiny home has everything you need and is very comfortable. There’s clean drinking water, an equipped kitchen, an outdoor barbecue and other essentials (like a mini portable washer, beach towels and over the shoulder mini cooler) … the home’s very clean and comfortable and even the resident geckos are super friendly! I found they put a lot of thought into little details inside the cottage. The night sky is unbelievably beautiful and you also have an ocean view in a quiet and safe neighbourhood…I’m looking forward to coming back!

The property is absolutely wonderful. Nice, natural landscaping that let's you feel immersed in the Hawaiian rainforest. Feels very secluded and private, while also feeling safe and welcoming. Its walking distance to a black sand, clothing optional, beach. I will definitely book here again when visiting the Big Island. I would feel safe here as a solo traveler. Stephen greeted us when we arrived to the property and was so welcoming. I immediately felt at ease in his presence. He gave us a tour and showed us to our rooms, let us know how to reach him if we needed anything. Our smoke alarm was going off one night and he came right over, checked it out and swapped the battery, fixing the problem. I traveled with a friend and we each had separate rooms. The house feels more home like, relaxing front porch, solid wood furniture, and everything you'd need. Both rooms were clean and beds comfortable. At first, I thought my bed may be too soft, but I slept SO good and woke with no pains, feeling refreshed, so it must have been just right. Bath and beach towels were in our rooms, a bathrobe, a list of hosted and local activities we may be interested in, and a little bowl of snacks too. I also appreciated they had sunscreen and bug spray available.

Michelle was a great host. She received us warmelly, showing her lovely, spacious and clean place very paciently and gave us a lot of tips of what to do in the island.

Orchid tree is exceptionally beautiful, totally solar powered with a beautiful pool, hot tub and landscaping, a large lanai for relaxing and the room is truly large with lounge able furniture , pristine clean. Many places we’ve stayed give you pictures that don’t really represent the place when you arrive. However orchid tree is wonderful as are the hosts, both friendly and responsive ! Breakfast was just fine with fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and a good selection of Juices , breads, cream cheese, etc as well as freshly ground coffee. (Plenty for us but if you are an egg type there’s always places in town). But the lanai, the waves crashing, the superb coffee, we didn’t need more!

Good ecosystem and rich vegetation. Geckos are cute; cats, chickens, cows. One specific chicken would come up to the property and lay eggs on a particular spot. Eggs look healthy and huge :D Lots of fruit trees. Owners are good people with great hospitality and nice communications. Rooms are clean, spacious, with a nice patio. beds are sooo comfortable. (The combination of sheets, comforters and mattress is something my friend and I really liked.) Weather is pleasant, view is amazing. fruits and breakfast are delicious.

Hale-Hoola B & B is located in Captain Cook. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a patio and a seating area. Very nice Hawaiian atmosphere with the nature. Breakfast was on the balcony with a good view on the ocean. Food allergies got taken serious. Swimming equipment like beach towels, boards or snorkels was provided.

Situated amongst 32 oceanfront acres on the Kohala Coast, the Fairmont Orchid is a spectacular resort offering luxurious accommodation and extensive resort facilities to the discerning traveler. The pool is the best you’ll find and the food and service are first class. The grounds are beautiful and position on the ocean with the beach is perfect. The bed is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in.
