Outstanding family run B&B that was charming, clean, and situated in the heart of the Appenzell region with access to unbelievable scenery and hiking. Wonderful hospitality from Abongile who provided all the local knowledge and recommendations. She went above and beyond to help us with a parking ticket as well. Beautifully renovated, very clean, and location is amazing! The common use of the large kitchen, living room and patio was great, we shared with a large family who occupied multiple rooms, and everyone was friendly and respectful. We loved our stay at Alte Metzg more than at other hotels on our travels!
