We loved everything about our stay. Primo and his wife were so kind and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious. The location was perfect for us since we wanted some peace and quiet whilst still being able to access the national park by boat.

The lodging was super, Gloria is a great host and we also took morning tour around Tortuguero Canals with Asley and he was simply amazing, he knows so much about the area, about all the species of animals and plants, any of his tours would be great choice.

The location was outstanding. Lovely owners, super clean, comfy beds ( please note small doubles), excellent AC, very peaceful. Internet did not work in room ( I was the furthest room away) but good out of my room ( I did a zoom conference without any problem.

The hotel is small, clean and very nicely decorated. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi were working alright. The breakfast was nice compared to other options in Costa Rica. I was especially happy with the very nice receptionist, Carmen, who went out of her way to provide us with the best recommendations on what to do in Tortuguero and where to book it. Also, the location of the hotel is ideal as a starting point for tours, exploring the Parque National or just visiting a restaurant or a soda. (By contrast, if you stay in San Francisco, you will need a boat ride for almost everything.)

The host was absolutely outstanding! I booked this hostel 15 minutes before we turned up as the place we arrived at beforehand was covered in bedbugs. Jose was able to accommodate 14 people at the drop of a hat as he has just refurbished and renovated the hostel. The showers were brilliant, the guest space was huge. Coffee and tea facilities available all day. Several fans in the room. Washing service available. Jose couldn’t do enough for us!

Visiting Tortuguero was a big highlight of our trip in Costa Rica, thanks to the amazing help of Karin and Oscar. They have helped us book every tour, and because of them we ended up with the best guides and even private tours for standard prizes. Apart from the tours and the clean room/house, especially the hospitality of Karin and Oscar Made our stay in Tortuguero so special. No where else in Costa Rica we have felt so welcomed! They came to pick us up from the boats, walked with us to the tours to make sure we found our way, and they were always availble to help us arrange things, or for just chitchat and a laugh. If you are looking for a wonderful stay in Tortuguero, definitely book here!!
