Comfortable spacious rooms, comfortable beds, free parking and easy access by car, peaceful country town, rural setting, agricultural surrounds, easy to find, just north of the Danube River. The breakfast was not included in the nightly tariff, but it had enough variety and a sufficient meal being good value for only 7 Euro per person. The owner was very friendly and happy to chat and share his time. He could speak English well in person, but it was a bit difficult to communicate in English over the phone or email. I liked that the church across the road had its bells ringing - very charming. Beautifully kept cemetery - locals caring for the gardens while I visited. We enjoyed a delicious, reasonably priced evening meal at the Italian restaurant only 10min drive to Tapfheim. Lovely evening and early morning stroll around town. The next day it was a short drive to Harburg Castle - a lovely medieval castle interesting to children and adults alike with fairy tale murals here and there around the gate and entrance. Would stay again and recommend.
