Friendly hospitality from our host Ricardo. He gave us lots of advice on the battlefields and museums of Verdun and local restaurants in walking distance. Ricardo's works of art was lovely to enjoy in all the rooms also spreading outside into tranquil space for breakfast. His home was perfect for parking our truck in his garage safely.

Family of 4 with a baby, one-night stay. The apartment is located in a quiet town which was fully destructed during the "battle of Verdun". Perfect location- less than 10 min drive- (or even walking distance) to Fort Vaux, Fort Douaumont, The Memorial... We stayed on the second floor apartment that has 2 big double-bed bedrooms. Very child friendly place: Sophie (the owner) had left a baby bed with it's linen prepared in one of the rooms. The apartment has a big south facing private garden (ie. sunny and away from the main road) Just by (30 meters away) there is a small park with swings that my older son enjoyed. Really good attention and communication with the owner at all times through WhatsApp.

The facility has a lovely garden and terrace for breakfast. We got a whole floor with own exit. The place is very quiet and has everything for small group or family with 1-2 kids to stay. The owner is very helpful, speaks French and German.

This is a hidden gem. The gardens are simply enchanting, even in late autumn - clearly this is a labor of love for the proprietress. We loved the decor of the house and the wonderful breakfast provided to us. The croissants were the best we have ever had. In the back of the garden there is an ominous-looking gash in the hillside. Upon further inspection we discovered it is a somewhat overgrown ninepin bowling lane, complete with wooden bowling balls, a ball return chute, and a hidden chamber where the pin-setter can safely hide. There was plenty of cleverness everywhere we looked. We would definitely return.

Madame Chantal is a very kind and pleasant host. The chalet was decorated beautifully and located in a corner of her amazing garden. It has a cosy bed with plenty of pillows. Breakfast was typically French; very tasty croissants, confiture and baguette. Would definitely recommend as a peaceful place from which to explore Verdun and its surroundings.

This is a French Chambres D'hotes, which are similar to english B&B's, with this in mind, if you like staying in B&B's rather than Hotels then we would certainly recommend this one. It is set in an un-spoilt village close to Verdun (scene of major 1st world war battle between French and German troops- lots of local history)and our hosts could not have been more accommodating from the pleasant welcome to the genuine goodbye wishes. The building is a traditional French town house with polished wooden floors and although some noise travels on the stairs we had an incredibly quite and peaceful night. Our room (the blue room) was comfortable and although the en suite was basic it was spotless and the shower powerful and hot. Breakfast was very good with local produce and a great choice of teas and refills on the coffee - very welcome. Parking is easy and plentiful, just across the road next to the river.

The Hotel perfect for us travelling by the area. Old farmhouse style hotel, in a quiet area and the owners made you feel very welcome. A good breakfast included and the Hotel had everything we needed. Nothing fancy but can really recommend.
