An outstanding village pub that serves excellent, uncomplicated but imaginative food and obviously appeals to locals and visitors alike.. The garden was beautiful and everything about the place was immaculately presented. The interior design and makeover was thoughtful and in keeping with the original building. The coffee shop outside the front door was a really nice touch - full of dog walkers in the morning. Breakfast was the best I have had in the UK and the vegetarian food options were fantastic.

The staff member was most welcoming when I arrived reminding me that my breakfast was included in the price I paid. I'm Coeliac and he was most accommodating explaining which menu options for both breakfast and dinner would be suitable for me. The chef was also on hand to confirm everything. They even had a dedicated gluten free deep fryer. Dinner was a really tasty tender bavette steak. Breakfast was really delicious and the staff member explained that I could choose absolutely anything on the menu so (since I'd just returned from a run up to Leith Hill Tower and back) I mixed a few things around from a few different choices. The cappuccino he made me was simply divine - a double shot was not too much to ask for and not only did he offer me another one, but (literally) topped it off with quality hand-grated dark chocolate on the top.

A wonderful stay :-) We have taken home a sweet memory of our time at Robin’s house. His attention to every detail, his recommendations, and his cooking made for a very special few days. His cuisine is excellent—breakfast on the terrace surrounded by nature with a delicious and complete English breakfast to start the day, and a delightful dinner with home-grown ingredients by candlelight left us impressed. A stunning country Manor House set in tranquil surroundings. Emma greeted us with her wonderful charm and made us feel so welcome. The interior is beautiful and our room was gorgeous. Beautiful linen and furniture. Breakfast was fantastic and we enjoyed it in Emma’s wonderful dining room with views into garden. We will definitely return to this peaceful, stunning setting.
