The Trout is a vintage pub very close to a bridge over the Thames. Both the pub facilities as well as the room we stayed in were fantastic! We also had a wonderful dinner in the pub. However, we especially appreciated the kindness and the friendliness of all the hotel staff, particularly of the manager, Hannah. We came as guests and left as friends. Thank you very much Hannah and all the team! We will definitely be back!

Evening meals were very good. Comfortable environment sitting in front of the open fire. The barman Craig was exceptional, very friendly and very good at his job. Keep him on at all costs.

Truly exceptional hospitality combined with serene comfortable rooms in a very pretty setting made for a wonderful experience. Vincent was a superlative host. Breakfast was really good with many options. STRONGLY recommend.

The bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get up in the morning, except that the breakfasts were so good I had to get up for those. Lunches and dinners were also very good indeed.

This is such a great place to stay if you’re planning to explore the cotswolds! The rooms are big, the owners and employees are really nice and the patrons are great too! The pub downstairs serves delicious food and has plenty options when it comes to food and drink. The room and en suite were nice and roomy. I had some of the best sleep in my life here. And you can literally start your hike from here, right in to the most stunning English countryside. We absolutely loved our stay at this family-owned business, and it seems to be a favourite of many locals too. Always a good sign in my opinion.

Just 5 miles from the city centre of Oxford, The Bear and Ragged Staff offers fantastic homemade food, free parking, and free Wi-Fi.
