Nice location off the main road in view of the Slieve Bloom mountains near Birr town. Welcomed by Carmel and offered fresh milk for the tea facilities in the room. Medium-sized room but good for the price. Warm and peaceful, very comfortable bed. Delicious healthy breakfast.

Carmel’s hospitality made my work trip feel more like a vacation. The house is spotlessly clean, Carmel and her husband Billy invited me for a nice evening tea and chat, and breakfast was very generous. The house is located at the end of a cul de sac surrounded by farm fields, but in reasonable walking distance from Birr town center (and Carmel offered me a lift if I didn’t want to walk). The local bus also picks up a few minutes’ walk away.

Located a short walking distance from the Grand Canal Walk, which was a lovely walking path. Belmont is a tiny village but there are larger villages with restaurants 10 minutes in several directions. Margaret is a gracious host and a lovely person.

Friendly host and great staff. Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time and I'm pretty fussy. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to have any other meals on the premises as I had other bookings made prior to arriving in birr. If I'm ever in the area again I would have no apprehensions about staying again. Many thanks to all in Townsend house from Damien and Karen.
