Host was ready to welcome us when we arrived. He was very nice and recommended us to a great restaurant in the town as well as informed us about onsen opening hours and more. We were also offered tea, some local sweets, and a cup of coffee in the morning. The accommodation was clean and comfy, with kotatsu in the room. You can also enjoy sleeping in futon on traditional tatami floor. Overall great accommodation, highly recommended.

What an exceptional welcome at Shinano Swee guesthouse! I arrived after a day of hiking, and I was immediately made comfortable. The hostel itself is comfortable, spacious and very clean. The futons are soft, and I was even offered an upgrade to a bigger room. Apple (who runs the hotel) and her amazing friends are good and generous persons, and they seem to genuinely love people! All of us had time, and we were happy to spend it together: have dinner and beer, watch videos, play ukulele, guitar and even Koto (Japanese traditional instrument). And then on the morning, I got to ride one of their bicycle in the streets, and then we went to Nagano temple together. In short, if you want to meet lovely people and live an unforgettable moment, go to this place!

One of the best accommodations of our entire trip to Japan! The owner couple is incredibly kind and attentive. You can really feel that they are hosts with all their heart! Upon arrival, we were immediately treated to a delicious dessert and tea. Additionally, they provided us with great tips for activities and restaurants near the guesthouse. Every morning, a tasty breakfast was served (soup, fruit, and tea/coffee). The room itself was perfectly equipped and super cozy – including a bathtub to warm up after a cold day! There are four guest rooms, each with its own bathroom, and a shared kitchen. From Nagano Station, there is a bus towards the accommodation (about 25 minutes by bus and a 15-minute walk). We would definitely take this route again. :-) During our stay, the host even kindly drove us to the bus stop twice. Near the guesthouse, there are two large supermarkets, UNIQLO, and a few restaurants (e.g. Ootoya, Hamazushi). 100% recommendation from our side. We hope to stay here again someday! A huge thank you for everything!

So much more than B&B. Get invited to a Japanese home with amenities amongst lush surroundings. Host was waiting for us at door when we arrived at 8pm! Most welcoming, simply generous and thoughtful makes our stay a warming one. Well conversant in English, deer hunter in winter cum owner in summer. Property nestled amongst countryside neighborhood with lush apple orchards and grape fields. Kids most welcomed with BBQ available, his Tokyo cat also most adorable. All amenities provided including english labeling, laundrymat, stocked fridge, kitchen pots/sink(!)
