The owner who welcomed us was very friendly, and even though he didn't speak English, we managed to communicate. With the help of a translator, he explained everything about the room and gave us some tips and local information. The room was huge and traditionally furnished. Our child was fascinated by all the details. An incredible experience. The bathroom we were assigned was very clean and spacious. It was also great that there was a parking lot where we could leave our car.

I had an amazing time staying here. The hotel in steeped in history, making you feel as if you've gone back to a simpler and more peaceful time. It was such a lovely place, we would have liked to stay longer. The owners, an elderly couple, were really nice. They were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and more than we could eat. The tatami room and the futons made us feel welcome in Japan.

Very good experience, the hostel is perfect if you want to stay in Beppu and meet new people. The bar area at the ground floor is perfect to drink a beer with other guests, and it's also possible to have dinner and breakfast (at a very good price). The owners are really nice, it's a pleasure to stay with them. I definitely recommend it!
