Simply one of the best place of our stay. There is not enough stars to give for the experience we lived. The cabanas are cute, very functional, clean and the AC works amazing. The value for money is incredible here. The owner will make you feel right at home and will care for you as no one. We enjoyed his company and his ability to talk about anything. To us there was no better host the whole stay. Finally the cherry on top: the safari. 5h at the best price I was quoted. We spent a wonderful morning exploring the park with his uncle. They were able to spot so many animals, we experienced amazing scenes such as elephants drinking or taking mud baths with babies. They drove us to places with no other jeeps and were so attentive of our well being. A HUGE thank you for making this experience truly amazing. Do yourself a favor and book here!!!

Such a perfect place to stay when you want to visit Udawalawe national park! We highly recommend to arrange the private jeep tour to the park with the owner - the driver was so professional, spoke good English and made sure that we saw all the animals possible!! The place itself is magical - cosy little house with outdoor shower. Especially relaxing if you arrive from the busy Kandy city or south area. The house was very clean and comfortable. The owners were so warm and welcoming. And the food!!! They prepared us such a nice lunch when we arrived - very authentic and delicious Sri Lankan food. Also their dog was such a nice entertainment for our toddler 🙂

We had an excellent time staying at Silent River Cottage. Amila was incredibly helpful with organising a safari and providing advice on sites to visit in Udawalawe. Furthermore, make sure you have breakfast and dinner here. Nadeeka made the best food we had in Sri Lanka and did not skimp out on the portions! The immediate area surrounding River Cottage is exceptional, we viewed a peaceful Buddhist temple, saw over 300 Indian Flying Foxes fleeing the nest at sunset and enjoyed a refreshing swim in Amila’s river.

Everything. Room is super good, comfortable bed, good aircon, hot shower. The lake just in front of the houses, you can borrow the boat and even spot the monitor lizards ! The owner is very kind and helpful, speaks very good english :) 10/10 recommend ! We wished to stay longer. Its not just a place to spend a night for a safari, its much more

We absolutely loved everything about this accommodation and its wonderful hosts, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. We would definitely book this place again for our next stay! The accommodation itself is spotlessly clean and furnished in an extremely modern style. A special highlight is the size of the bed, which is exceptionally large and comfortable. The rest of the space is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, creating a truly welcoming atmosphere. The hosts are a young family who greet you with open hearts and treat you like a personal guest rather than just a visitor. They are incredibly warm, attentive, and helpful, making us feel cared for and completely at home throughout our stay. True hospitality is clearly a priority here! We also highly recommend trying the breakfast and the homemade Kottu, both based on cherished family recipes — you won’t find a more authentic experience. Additionally, the safari arranged through them in Udawalawe National Park was fantastic — from the smooth pickup and delicious food to the heartfelt welcome upon our return, everything was perfectly organized. Without a doubt, a true 10/10 experience!

Amazing place! Everything is beautiful! The bungalow is really nice and clean. We were in the middle of the jungle in a calm et relaxing space. There's also a terrasse. The personal was really nice. We only reserved one night, but we wished we could stay longer. It was the best hotel we had during our stay in Sri Lanka.
