Peter and Michel were fantastic hosts and made us feel really welcomed. Amazing views, gorgeous room and great home cooked breakfast. Getting to feed the deer and sheep was an added bonus and we also got to play with their lovely labs. Cannot recommend enough!

Very comfortable accommodation, a few minutes from the lake. 10 minutes from the wharf and about the same from the hot beach. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much bother. Great breakfast either cooked or continental. Lots of local restaurants close by.

I had an amazing stay at this accommodation during my solo road trip in Taupo. Unfortunately, I ran into some unexpected car troubles, but Nana, the incredible host, stepped in and helped me so much! Her kindness, patience, and willingness to assist went far beyond what I could have hoped for. The place itself was spotless, cozy, and well-maintained. Every little detail made the stay feel special. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious—such a great way to start the day! I feel so fortunate to have chosen this place and met Nana. If you’re in Taupo and looking for a clean, welcoming, and truly exceptional place to stay, this is it. Highly recommend!

    Wow Punawai is an exceptional bed and breakfast with friendly hosts . Very private room with your own guest lounge with amazing lake Taupo views and luxury wallace cotton linen to cocoon you in the extremely comfortable bed . Off street parking and easy Uber ride into town if needed. Home made treats and continental breakfast with yummy Bircher muesli was great to start our day.
