This bed and breakfast is allergy-free and non-smoking. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get to know the real Sal and its people. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel not only welcome, but truly at home. The room was super comfy, and the food was always delicious (be sure to try one of Candida's secret recipes for dinner, if you get the chance). I was provided with all the help and advice I needed in order to explore the island, and Candida and Martin personally took me to places that only local people know about. If, like me, you prefer a quiet, remote beach over those crowed, touristy ones: there's a small one just a short bicycle ride away – although I usually opted for a walk through to beautiful steppe landscape to get there. If you prefer spending your days with the other tourists down in the south of the island: Santa Maria beach is only 20 minutes by bus – which may sound complicated at first, but is actually super fun and convenient (and it only costs 1 Euro). I could go on praising this place for two weeks (which is actually the amount of time I stayed), but I'll just stop here – not without saying: Thank you, Candida & Martin, for the wonderful time at kleine schweiz! Featuring city views, Sakaroule B&B features accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a bar, around 600 metres from Praia de Santa Maria. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the bed and breakfast free of charge. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. The staff was amazing. Paola is wonderful. It's in a safe and secure part between the beach and the center of Santa Maria. A grocery store is close. The people in the neighborhood are great and super friendly. There are so many great restaurants around that are affordable. There are 2 restaurants within a block of this location. My favorite part was watching people pass by on the street from my balcony. Paola and Mano are there to help you out. They are the friendly faces that are there twice a day to get you set up if you need to.....but you don't have to do anything if you don't want to. Wifi is great. Everything was SO easy. From the airport to Sakaroule. I spent 3 weeks here. I don't know where the time went, but it was a great place to call home and I am so grateful to Paola for her wonderful hospitality. Don't go to the big overpriced hotels. This is a very special place and if I ever come back, I would stay here again. Minutes from the beach. Minutes from great restaurants. Minutes from the central walk. Minutes from culture. Minutes from a shopping center. No taxi is needed. Most excursions will also pick you up from Sakaroule which Mano will set up for you if you need assistance with language or activity ideas.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, always available for any request. The owner, in particular, was extraordinary: he helped us organize memorable excursions and personally took care of booking taxis for both our arrival and departure. This level of attention and care made our stay truly special. The room was spotless, spacious, and equipped with every comfort. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the immaculate cleanliness. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is quiet and well-served, perfect for relaxing and immersing yourself in the island’s beauty. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Cape Verde. Here, you’ll find not just a place to sleep but a true experience of hospitality. We will definitely be back! The property is ideally situated in Santa Maria, Milu and her husband are absolutely amazing people and took great care of me. The breakfast was copious and varied and very good.

The apartment is really neat and modern, everything you need. Would definitely come again.
