From arrival we felt welcomed. The hotel is well designed, the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There are so many little touches to make it feel you’ve arrived to stay with family or friends. Our host Irene is enthusiastic and super helpful. Offering suggestions and help for every travel question (and we had many)!! Breakfast was ample and covered all the bases as to offerings that were fresh and yummy! Our airport transfers went smoothly. Excellent drivers in both directions. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our days here and highly recommend Casa Alegria as a great base to visit the northern end of Santiago.

It was clean and the family setting was exactly what we were looking for. The home cooked meals breakfast and dinner were delicious. We enjoyed the late afternoon walks down to the black sandy beach.

It is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The house is a mini mansion and was better than what we expected. Maria and Yannick made us feel comfortable and treated us like we were family. We loved their sweet breakfast, too.

Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

Absolutely everything especially Mamadu, who looks after the house!!! For the very first time I was travelling on my own and I did enjoy every minute! House is absolutely beautiful with amazing views from the patio and sitting area which is pretty much at the swimming pool. There are so many plants around that you feel like in a jungle literally, but that my kind of house. Peace and quiet area ... except for the roosters, but I did love it as well, as brought me back to my childhood when I grow up in the village. And the most important factor why I did love this place so much is that I was on my own, so all house was to myself!!! Fortunately, Mamadu was there any time I did need anything!

KAZARÃO DI MAVETE- Guesthouse nằm giáp biển ở Praia, cách Bãi biển Praia Negra 13 phút đi bộ và Justice Palace 200 m. Kazarão di Mavete feels modern inside, newly renovated, and appears historic on the outside. It is located in the wonderful area of Praia with a lovely view of the city port, a few minutes away on foot from the main attractions of the central Praia.

The property is clean and tidy, centrally located in the plateau, at walking distance to major attractions like Sicupira market, Cabral Museum & Memorial and the bus terminal to Tarrafal is literally down the road. Maria is a wonderful hostess, she is very helpful and attentive to her guests’ needs. She even stayed up late into the night to wait for my arrival.
