She was extremely knowledgeable about the island and even so much about the other islands as well. Gave us great recommendations when we arrived with no plans. She prepared a delicious breakfast that we shared with the other guest each morning. It was so filling. She even packed us a bagged breakfast for our early morning ferry. And drove us to the port very early. And let us store our luggage. So kind and generous. The rooms were impeccably clean. Comfortable and inviting. Bed was so comfortable. AC was cold and water was very hot. Provided drinkable water in room and dispenser in common area. A 10-15 min walk to main downtown but enjoyable and safe. Affordable laundry services nearby.

This unique location — a fortress — offered superb accommodation for my tour group. The Tower room offered excellent opportunities for morning birdwatching; all rooms were clean; staff were very friendly and helpful with offers of maps, local sights, and opportunity for local activity bookings; breakfast was served fresh and promptly each morning; and the location is in a quieter and secure neighbourhood (El Eden). This was by far the favourite accommodation among tour guests compared with two other similarly priced locations in Galapagos (Santa Cruz and Isabela). I cannot say enough good things about La Fortaleza and look forward to returning with more guests in the future. A big thanks to hosts Gianna and Roberto!

It’s a quirky Hotel with a lot of view points, neat, organized rooms, and in an amazing location. They sat us down when we arrived and talked over the whole trip to the Galapagos with us. They will absolutely make sure you have a great trip from start to finish and will help you out with everything. Victor and his son Aaron were extremely nice and helpful. A++++

The breakfast was great, and the hotel has filtered water available from their own filtration plant. Staff was wonderfully kind and helpful. Room was large and comfortable, so was bathroom.
