I did not take breakfast - the room exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the small double room so we could have a terrace - was nice to sit on terrace in the evening/morning. Location was fantastic. Minutes to walk to the lake where you can take boat rides etc. Also many restaurants and pubs close by. Definitely recommend this place!! The staff was extremely nice - I was able to drop off my luggage early and leave it after check-out for 3 hours. Perfect for us!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. The staff was very friendly. He helped us to take the luggage to upstairs. The breakfast is delicious.

In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. The room was spacious and had a very good view of a small stream. The amenities were excellent. The bathroom fittings are exceptional and modern which are not a common sighting in Europe. The place is at walking distance from the railway station and the main market area. The host, Ian, is very friendly.

Overlooking picturesque hills, Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse is a family-run guest house in the tranquil Village of Ings, 2 miles from Windermere. There is free Wi-Fi in the bedrooms. Nice comfortable, clean room in a convenient for us location that was easy to drive to and park. Lovely size room with a really big bathroom. Friendly, welcoming staff that had everything prepared and awaiting arrival. Great breakfast with fun visitors. Would stay here again! We were concerned about road noise, but there was no problem. Fun to see the farm across the way and frolicking sheep, and strolled to the mill for dinner.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Excellent location. Was able to purchase early parking and check in. The staff were helpful and welcoming. The hotel was clean, bright, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, fruit juices, fruit, yogurt, granola and cereals and a great selection of cooked breakfast choices.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels. Comfortable, clean, great location! Wonderful breakfast and host!

Dating from around 1659, the String of Horses is a traditional coaching inn is set in the country village of Faugh, 8 miles from Carlisle and junction 43 of the M6 motorway. Breakfast was served by a very friendly lady. Nothing was too much trouble.
